lettered tiles are set down onto the board, though it's obvious it's rather f u t i l e at this point. emerald gaze is kept lowered, irritation melting into neutrality at the prospect of lunch. [ to hide a smile . . . ]

It was already broken when he got there, but he made it all the more worse by touching said broken item. It just so happens that he can mask lowering his head in fear of being told off to look at the cuts on his fingers instead.

hesitance is sensed not only in body language but in the tiny thump of his heart. so a gentle hand will then raise to messy locks, giving them a reassuring tussle.

losing isn't part of the byrne brand. even if it's something small & meaningless . . . like scrabble. emphasis on victory { which she has none of it seems } crinkles her nose subtly as subsequent tile is placed.
