Hey, W.I.T.C.H au lore!
Sooo… The way Phobos is often portrayed in the fandom. Yeah. More specifically, his image as a brooding gothic manwhore that made it onto my blacklist. He's usually written as evil, sexy prince straight out of some dark fantasy novel. In W.I.T.C.H, in my opinion, the setup can be much more interesting because the world seems to have a built-in matriarchy. That means my version of the evil prince acts less like a powerful dark lord and more like a delicate noble lady — an accessory to his royal mother and sister, whose main purpose, according to social expectations, is to make a good marriage. I imagine a world where etiquette and social standarts developed around reversed gender roles. A character like that wouldn't offer a noblewoman his hand, hold doors open for her, or try to impress her with his strength and determination. If anything, he'd happily play helpless when it suits him, even if it deeply hurts his pride.
As regent, this Phobos prefers to be the one in charge of things, but he won't hesitate to hide behind his little sister when needed.
update: I mean, a brooding manwhore is iconic too ngl 🫡
