Scott McCall is nineteen and just so happens to be a bitten werewolf. He’ll celebrate his next birthday on August 23rd. He’s currently a college student at UC Sunnydale. He’s known for being loyal, gentle, and empathetic, but he’s also naive, stubborn, and morally black and white.. He looks just like Tyler Posey, and this character is currently taken.

a glimpse into the past ;

Simple is definitely not a word to describe Scott McCall’s life. For at least thirteen years, it was pretty simple; he lived with his parents, and it was problem free. A couple of bad moments here and there, but it wasn’t like the world suddenly got chaotic. The McCall’s made their life work, even with their asthmatic son, until they couldn’t anymore. The day they dropped the divorce bomb on Scott, he tried so hard not to be effected by it. He tried so hard to go along with the idea of his parents splitting, telling his parents that he understands since he knows all the fighting had to end. It was that turning point in his life that everything went to chaos and chaos followed him for years. For a year, it was split back and forth. Scott would spend some time with his mother and some time with his father. That was until Mr. McCall got a job as a field agent in the Los Angeles branch of the FBI, and Scott started living with his mother, Melissa McCall, full time and staying in Sunnydale where they made their lives work. Scott had actually gotten a lot closer to his mother after his father left the picture for good. Despite the chaos, all Scott wanted to be was a normal teenaged boy. He wanted to be popular and on the lacrosse team, and he wanted a girlfriend too. He had gotten a few of those things, after one strange night and a run in with a wolf—a werewolf to be exact. Some call it a gift, suddenly a person is gifted with superhuman speed and strength and they could do whatever they wanted. To Scott, becoming a werewolf is a curse. Sure, he made the lacrosse team, even as a co-captain, and sort of got popular and gained a girlfriend, but a lot of bad things started happening around him and there were people out there ready to kill him just because he isn’t exactly human.

Surprisingly, even with two slayers, a handful of hunters, and a bunch of big bads ready to kill everyone, Scott managed to live through high school. Life had gotten to the point where something bad happened almost every day and yet—even though he didn’t need to be—Scott was right in the middle of it. It took Scott a while to figure out that he could use the wolf side of him for good rather than his own personal gain. But at first it wasn’t that easy; he was clumsy and late to the party when it really mattered. Especially when the slayers could handle it themselves rather easily. But Scott tried his hardest and eventually he was able to help, thinking up his own plans just to be helpful, because Sunnydale is his home too, and he wants to protect everyone he knows an loves just as much as anyone. Just because he is a werewolf, it doesn’t mean he’s evil like the stereotypical supernatural creature. He fights that stereotype just as hard as he fights for the people he cares for to be safe. There have been times where it seems like there’s no way good will win over evil, but Scott refuses to believe that there can’t be a Plan B to something. His own black and white morals are what gets him in trouble from time to time, where there is only good and bad and no shades of gray. But there is always a fine layer of hope between it, that good will triumph someway since evil can never have a happy ending. Which for Scott, it’s also a fine layer of naivete. Ever the years Scott would like to think that his naive personality has gone, but since he holds on to the idea of good vs. evil like a fairytale, it won’t be very possible. It could also be the reason why he’s a sophomore in college and still undecided.

Stiles Stilinski: If there’s ever been one constant in Scott’s life, besides his mother, it would be Stiles Stilinski. The two boys met at a really young age through their fathers both being police officers, often choosing to go there on bring your child to work day. Most would think, especially about how inseparable they are, that they would have been friends right away, but it actually took a bit of warming up between the hyper Stiles and shy Scott. Once they warmed up to each other they became inseparable for many years after. They got each other through everything big in their lives: school, Claudia Stilinski’s dead, the McCall’s divorce, Scott’s lycanthropy—they’ve always been together. Their relationship grew from friends to best friends to brothers now. It’s rare to see a Scott without a Stiles, especially when they’re always in the middle of anything chaotic happening.

Allison Argent: The moment Scott met Allison Argent he was hooked. There was something about her that he just fell for. Of course, there was a big thing about her that should have told him to stay away and stay away for good. With Allison being a slayer, it was only a matter of time until she would figure out Scott’s werewolf problem. Their relationship happened anyway, even with the both of them hiding who they really are from each other. Scott fell for Allison, genuine teenaged puppy love, which didn’t last long when Kate Argent entered the picture. Although Scott knew about Allison being the slayer, his own secret about being a werewolf didn’t sit well with Allison. The two of them broke up and even though he still has a lot of feelings for her, Scott knows he needs to give her space. No matter how long it’ll take.

Derek Hale: Scott and Derek have been butting heads through the whole time they’ve known each other. Started with Scott thinking Derek is the one who bit him, making his life hell with the lycanthropy curse. Even the stubborn thinking on his part didn’t change when it was obvious Derek wasn’t the one to bite him. They were two different people when it came to how things should be handled, even if they worked with each other on occasion. When Derek became an alpha and started turning vulnerable teens for power, Scott wasn’t having it. He didn’t want anyone to fall prey to the same curse he had, even if Derek had them convinced that the bite is a gift. Scott has yet to see the gift part of this, still making him completely stubborn to anything Derek says or does.

Stefan Salvatore & Damon Salvatore: Vampires are something Scott isn’t familiar with, making the Salvatore brothers something he’s weary of. Stefan isn’t necessarily the one Scott hates, though, seeing as he has a soul and doesn’t hurt other people. And for some reason neither slayer had killed him, which makes Scott want to try and test him out. But then there’s Damon, on the other hand, who is nothing like his younger brother. Damon is the essential soulless, evil, apathetic vampire that likes to push buttons. But with his chip in from The Initiative, Scott knows he can’t actually hurt an innocent. But he’ll keep an eye on both of the brothers just to keep himself at a peace of mind.

Christine Northman: The Initiative is something that Scott knows about from passing but refuses to truly figure out the fine workings of it. Specifically for their agenda on the supernatural and that he’s a supernatural creature. But the one thing that has Scott baffled is the pack of Alphas working for them. He has talked to Christine Northman from time to time, she has shown some strange interest in him. She always seems to know something he doesn’t know, but keeps it a secret. A secret Scott isn’t fully interested in finding out about, especially if she works for something he doesn’t trust.

The steady sound of a heartbeat is music to his ears, followed by the sweet scent of her. It was intoxication and reviving all at the same time. Her smile grew when their gazes met; they met in the middle of the hall in only a few strides. Being this close to her made him felt calm, human, while his focus is only on her. He listened to her heart timed with her words, nodding along to a story about what took her so long.It didn’t matter to him if she was late or early, he had been waiting for her anyway. He always wait for her after class.

Scott McCall will always be waiting for Allison Argent. After class, after break up, for as long as it takes.

There was a time where hearing her heartbeat would cause the stupidest smile to come across his face, all lopsided and goofy. It would make his body come alive and he just knew his girlfriend is near. There are so many full moons spent just thinking about that heartbeat, the way she smelled, the way her lips tasted. She’s his anchor, the tie to humanity that isn’t something to let go so easily. Even when she’s the one who broke up with him, claiming that it wasn’t working. Not with him lying, not with her lying.

Not with the idea that she’s supposed to kill him.

It happened on a Thursday, two nights away from a full moon, but he didn’t care. They sat on her bed; he took in the empty space where the lamp he broke used to be. How empty her dresser is now. Allison’s heartbeat wasn’t steady, speeding up with anxiety and uncertainty. Scott so desperately wanted to ignore it. But when she spoke up, letting out a shaky breath.

“There’s no easy way to do this.” There was a crack in her voice, indicating a tightening in her throat. To say he was alarmed is an understatement as he reached up, gingerly placing his hand on her chin. Even slower, moving his hand to cup her face and watched her momentarily lean into his hand. A tear fell down her cheek.

“Hey—don’t cry, everything’s going to be okay.” But it wasn’t going to be okay, no matter how hard he’d deny it. Telling himself that everything happens for a reason, that they’re fated or something. He believes it so much.

“Stop,” her plea was matched with another tear, “I’m trying to break up with you.” His mind repeated the words over and over. Break up. With you. Break up with you. For a moment, he retracted his hand out of reflex, instantly feeling some sort of internal wound due to those words. Realizing that this is real, this isn’t some stupid dream or trick being played on him. Not when her heartbeat was so steady, no raise indicating her lying.

But he smiled. He smiled and nodded, completely understanding. She’s a slayer; she’s supposed to hunt his kind. Kill his kind. He’s a supernatural creature, a werewolf. They weren’t meant for this. Yet that line of naïveté came through, he just smiled and nodded. “It’s okay, I know we’re going to be together.”

The scoff is something he expected, as Allison shook her head. “I can’t make you wait for me; I'm not going to do that. And what makes you so sure? There is no such thing as fate.”

“You’re a slayer, a chosen one.”

“That’s beside the point.” Her look wasn’t full of anger or frustration, but of something that he took as love. An expression that gave him a signal to bring her in for one more kiss. He knew it was going to be the last kiss between them for a while, making him give all he could in a few seconds of their lips pressed together. It was a bittersweet feeling letting go.

“I understand, Allison. I’m respecting your decision but just know, I will wait.”

 Because Scott McCall will wait for Allison for as long as it takes.

  It was her heartbeat that he heard, even though the Rocket Café was full of people. Everyone holding their own conversations, forks scraping against plates, and drinks being placed on tables. Scott knew the familiar steady sound the organ, where he looked to his left and saw Allison walking in with Caroline Forbes. They were talking about a class they had together. But he knew they were probably talking about something else, something full of supernatural danger. He watched her walk, listened to her voice while completely ignoring the bag of chips he was eating from. Stiles sitting across from him, chowing down intently on the tacos that were the main course this Tuesday.

It’s been a few years since that break up and still he listens for her heartbeat. Getting the same feeling, he used to get while in high school, waiting for her after class. Ready to hold her books and listen to whatever she wanted to talk about.

Their eyes locked and there was that smile he grew to love. It was small, civil, something that is a great sign between exes. Sure, they may not be dating anymore, no longer full of teenaged puppy love. But they were still friends, in a sense, sharing a common ground in wanting and needing to protect Sunnydale from supernatural dangers. She broke the stare first, turning to Caroline, “do you want to sit with Scott and Stiles?” The question was answered with a yes, almost obviously, while the girls got their food and made their way towards the boys. Allison and Caroline sat on either side of Stiles, still with Allison almost across from Scott. They smiled and greeted each other with soft, yet civil, hey’s.

The break up wasn’t easy, but it got easier. Waiting got easier when he knew he was doing the right thing by respecting her and her wishes. It isn’t like they couldn’t be friends anyway.

Still, he waited and waited for fate to return the favor.

“You need to drop it, McCall.”

It shouldn’t bother him so much. To be told to drop it, to stand down and let someone else do the job. It isn’t like he wants to just sit back and watch Mystic Hills go from peaceful to chaotic. There are too many people that he cares about in this town, from his mother to his best friends, he couldn’t let anyone get hurt. And just because this blonde bombshell is the Slayer doesn’t mean she has to always be alone in this. He’s a werewolf. If anything he could be just as helpful since he’s just as strong as vampires, just as fast. The Slayer was made to go against the vampires, to protect humans, well so were werewolves.

Scott McCall couldn’t just drop this. There are innocent human beings being taken and ritually sacrificed. And so far, all he’s been able to do is find the bodies. There’s something going on about this, how there’s always a set of three with something in common. But he can’t figure out, or who could be next. And there’s no way that Caroline Forbes could do that by herself. Well even if she did have Mr. Saltzman as her watcher, or whatever. All Scott wants to do is to show Caroline he could be helpful. He and his friends, his pack. They’ve been called that word once or twice, maybe a few times, and still as much as he doesn’t want to call them his pack—that’s  what they are. He’s always been the alpha in his pack when technically he’s still an omega.

He has Stiles Stilinski, his best friend and own Watcher-type. Considering Stiles is the one who does the bulk of the research and has developed a strange pattern in these killings. The kid is definitely one of the brains behind how Scott’s team works. Lydia seems to have some sort of weird connection with these bodies. She’s found one on her own, unknowingly to how or why, but she found one. She might be able to find more. Allison Argent is—well she can handle herself. She’s pretty handy with a compound or crossbow and not to mention Chinese ring daggers. So with those three, Scott’s pack is well equip with special individuals who are willing to help protect this town. Which then brings in the more supernatural edge to Scott’s so-called pack. Himself and Isaac Lahey. The fellow beta has been creeping into Scott’s circle of friends and Scott won’t deny, he cares for the other guy. But it’s nice to have someone else who understands the ins and outs with being a werewolf, but also knows how to use their claws when needed.

  So when Scott would think about his pack, he can’t think of one reason why Caroline wouldn’t let them help. Sure, he understands the whole spiel the cheerleader once told him. A Slayer is the chosen one, one girl born into every generation becomes the Slayer if the last one dies. This is a burden they must bear alone. And Scott understands, truly he does, but his personality doesn’t want to let Caroline do this one her own. He wants to help in any way he can. So he took one step forward, shaking his head as he watched Caroline Forbes’ fleeting figure.

“Caroline, wait,” he watched her turn around, curls flying behind her, and Scott stared back for a moment. “You can’t do this on your own. My friends and I—we can handle ourselves but we can also help you. You don’t have to be alone. I know, I know. The Slayer is always alone but can’t you make an exception?” He stepped forward while talking, raising eyebrows once he was done. Scott stared at Caroline until she replied. He watched her facial features change with each thought but when her face reflected one of seriousness and solemn, Scott knew she was just going to brush him off again.

“Scott, I appreciate it. I do. But all your friends are good for are finding the dead bodies.”

It was a low blow and Caroline had to know that. But Scott’s face fell, all the hope he once felt kind of disappeared. Sure, he may have been too late with some of the bodies, finding them after they’re dead. But it doesn’t mean he and his friends couldn’t help. That they wouldn’t be the least bit helpful. Scott is sure that it’ll all work out better if they were a team. After everything that has gone on in Mystic Hills and how he’s been caught in the middle of all of it, Scott figured Caroline would be a little bit more lenient in letting him help.

“Come on, Care, you know we can help.” Caroline was still retreating, walking away while shaking her head a few times. “Alright, why not just myself? We can keep my friends out of it. You know I can take care of myself, I mean I’ve got claws.” It was crazy. How that was his final attempt. To bring up his lycanthropy like it’s been the least bit helpful in the past couple of months. He’s a terrible werewolf. He hated it when he was first bitten and now his life keeps getting worse. But in the end, Scott McCall just wants to help protect Mystic Hills. This is his home, his loved ones live here. If he just sits by and watches…it wouldn’t end well and he knows it. Caroline has to know it. “Please, I can help.” 

This obviously was the last straw for the Slayer. The blonde walked back, briskly and determined, with a glare in her eyes. “Now you listen here, McCall. That’s the problem, that’s why I can’t let you help me. I’m the Slayer, I’m the one who’s supposed to be the protector. You’re a werewolf, you can easily be a bad guy just like a vampire could. So I can’t trust you, I’m not going to trust you. Just go home, Scott. Go home to your friends, tell them to keep their noses out of my business. I can’t look out for you and the rest of the town. People are dying and it’s my job to stop it. So go home.” Those were her final words. Caroline Forbes walked away, still pissed off that she had to tell him this many times just to drop it.

Scott watched Caroline, feeling defeated but still a little bit hopeful. If she wasn’t going to let him and his friends help, they’re just gonna help on their own. Maybe if they work at it, they’ll be there before the bodies are found dead. Maybe they can find who’s been taking the people and sacrificing them. Maybe, without Caroline, they can stop whoever is doing this. Just to show that maybe the Slayer doesn’t actually have to be alone. Because that’s all Scott wants to show her. Not that he wants to take her job or anything from her but to help her.

It was silent, air filled with tension and the three people sitting around the table would not speak. Something was weighing heavily on each of their minds. But the young boy, sitting in what felt like the middle of his parents, stared blankly at the center of the table. He couldn’t figure out what his parents were thinking. He could look at his mother, she’d avoid his glance and stay quiet. Looking down at her plate as she chewed quietly. He could look at his father, who stared at his mother with a serious glare. Deep down he knows the signs, they’re going to fight soon. Over something he couldn’t understand, something he’d never understand either. Since each time they begin to fight, his mother would say “Scott, go to your room.” And Scott McCall would oblige because he’s a good son.

Tonight is different, Scott could feel it in his gut. Everything about this dinner points to wrong things, they’re not going to fight like usual. Something about the silence and the tension made Scott uneasy. He went to push his chair out, about to ask if he could be excused when his father put down his fork. Easily capturing Scott’s attention. He looked up at his dad, face full of questions and concerned but his father just kept looking at his mother. “Are you going to tell him, Melissa, or should I?” Scott looked between both of his parents, a sick feeling rising from his gut to his chest. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his inhaler. Scott shook it a few times before taking a breath in while pressing down on it, allowing the medication open up his airways.

Melissa McCall looked at her son with worried eyes, getting a small smile in return. A signal Scott gives his mother to tell her that he’s okay, he’s fine. It was just a precaution, to avoid any sort of asthma attack. Then her eyes had moved to her husband, quickly changing from worried to angry. “Don’t talk like that, don’t you see you’re making his asthma act up?” Scott tried to speak up, tell his mother that it was all good. He was okay. Everything is fine. But the words were lost in his throat when his father’s hands pressed tightly against the table.

“You’re babying him again, Melissa. When will he ever learn to take care of himself if you’re constantly make it too easy for him.” And there it starts. The fighting. The back and forth arguing over everything until they have no voices left.

“Like you could do better? You’re never home.” A very typical response from Melissa McCall. She worked a lot herself, but not nearly as much as Mr. McCall would. As a field agent in the FBI, he spends a lot of his time doing a lot of paper work and solving various crimes and crises. He doesn’t have time to be home and watch his son grow up. It’s a problem Melissa has with her husband, that he doesn’t even try for Scott. She never makes the argument about her treatment from him, she always puts Scott first.

“Maybe there’s a reason why.” There was his father’s retort, something short and full of some sort of emotion Scott couldn’t read. Was it anger or exasperation? Maybe a mixture of both. They fight the same tune, day in and day out, over the same things. You work too much, you work too early. There isn’t enough money to pay the bills. You’re never home. You missed Scott’s game. It’s enough to drive the thirteen year old mad. He wanted to get up and leave the table, not even give his parents the satisfaction of an excuse. If they could only see what their fighting does to him. How it tears him up and makes him feel ill.

When Melissa went to respond to her husband, Scott decided to speak up. “Stop. What do you have to tell me?” He wanted to know. He wanted to take away the tension created by both of his parents and the confusion they gave him. Why are they making this so difficult? They fight all the time, arguing about their parenting and their marriage. All Scott wanted was for it to all end. “I deserve to know, okay?” Scott looked to both of his parents and watched their facial features change, relax even. But both faces held a bit of solemnness and it didn’t easy any of the discomfort the boy felt.

“Your father and I are getting a divorce, Scott.”

It’s every kids nightmare, the harsh realization that their parents are no longer fully in love. That no amount of counseling or talking about it would make it any better. That the only way to make the fighting and the hurt stop is to call it quits all together. And to be the child caught in between, knowing that it won’t be easy on either parent, is no easy task himself. He wanted to be there for his mother, to calm her and tell her that it’s okay. He understands. He loves her. But at the same time, he looks to his father and sees his hero. A man of the FBI. The person that he’s looked up to for so long. He didn’t want his family to end and yet sitting here, Scott knew it was for the best. He just knew that the fighting would stop. Which felt easier on him. Yet he could see the sadness in his mother’s eyes, enough to break his own heart, and the seriousness in his father’s face. This is it. His family is broken now.

Scott sat there for a few moments, thinking about how to respond in this situation. He couldn’t look at his mother and he couldn’t look at his father. He kept his eyes on the center of the table, all appetite gone and the food in front of him almost making him sick. A part of Scott wanted to cry. The child in him, the one that reminds him that yes he’s thirteen but he’s not an adult. He doesn’t have to be brave for his parents. But he needed to be that brave person, that brave adult stuck in a child’s body. With a small nod, he looked at both of his parents. “Okay.” Was all he could get out.

He questioned it though. Why couldn’t it work? Why couldn’t they work on the marriage instead of just pulling for a divorce? Scott couldn’t help but think that they went thirteen plus years together, what about it makes it so hard to keep on going? But he’d look up, see the sad face his mother wore and he knew. She’s been fighting for years and not getting any happier. He’d look to his father and see a man who’s put more into work than his own marriage. In that moment, at the dining room table, Scott McCall finally realized something. This isn’t because it can’t work anymore, it’s because they’re done fighting. They’re done being sad and hurt. So he understood. As much as he could possibly understand, Scott knew this is for the best.

“It’s okay.” He told them, giving both of his parents a smile. “It’ll be better this way.”
