Today I was asked how I get my confidence. And although I gave advice and how I’ve been able to build up my confidence. It’s been on my mind. Here is some of what I said:
Surrounding yourself with same bodied people helps a lot. Don’t follow skinny models or “goal” bodies (unless you’re on a physical weight loss journey and they went through the same). Definitely don’t admire them just for being skinny but for the journey and hardships they went through.
Stop focusing on what you think men like. Men don’t matter. Not in terms of your mental well-being.
Do stuff for you. Try a BUNCH OF CLOTHES ON! Seriously this is a big one. Keeping an open mind when trying on clothes helps a lot. Of course there’s gonna be certain things you’re not comfortable with and that’s okay but you literally have to wear stuff that makes your feel good. Your attitude changes when you feel good.
It’s also really important that you don’t compare yourself to others. It’s hard on your your self esteem. Also, we should be able to appreciate another’s beauty without questioning our own. It’s hard, I know but that’s why I say it’s hard work.
You’re not always gonna get it or understand why someone likes you or is attracted to you but you have to believe they are genuine in their love and their words. The not believing is your own issues and what you have to work on.
Hope this helps someone.
