I think Jesse and Mel were fwb for awhile and no one in the ER caught on at all. They were just very normal and professional at work. It ended amicably, truly no hard feelings and they’re still friends. One time Mel has a get together at her place and everyone is looking for utensils or bowls and Jesse just quietly pulls everything out from the right spot.

Nobody catches on except for Frank who’s side eyeing him very hard but can’t quite put his finger on it.

It’s getting kind of ridiculous until someone knocks the book out from under Mel’s table that was holding up a leg and Jesse’s like “Mel just let me pay for a new one already! It was my fault for breaking it!”

And Mel’s like “no i think we were both eager and willing in the breaking.”
