I have personal deadlines for several conference invitations. I work from 8 AM to 7 PM. I have short breaks. I'm also working on a journal submission. Anyway, one day, I'll look back and say to myself, I did my best. And God saw that.

To be fair, older people are happy and excited about AI because it makes things easier for them. Generative AI feels like magic to them. People should give them a break when they make an image that looks like AI slop.
When research gets hard, let's remember that one day, when we enter academia as professors, we'll need publications to survive and be promoted. It's a skill that has to be sharpened early [and perhaps daily for those who live for scientific inquiry].
God's timing is perfect, even if it appears late.
Theologians should stop arguing about Jesus's historicity to an unbeliever, especially when the person is a former Christian or from a Christian family. The reason is more personal than intellectual. Doing so removes sympathy and understanding. It's possible that others who were supposed to help or see that person failed. Sometimes, a serious loss of a loved one can blind a person. Jesus is a loving companion to a person who cannot do it alone. Severe loneliness, which people can experience even among friends and family, and the struggle to get by in this harsh world, can cause a person to diminish God's existence. Jesus knew what was wrong with a person when He met them, and this is why people's testimony is so important. One person cannot do it alone. Hence, the church exists. Unfortunately, some people studied theology without this experience, acceptance of Christ's full body, and full trust in God. These are the same people who push others away in a church establishment. Honestly, they are harder to forgive than a scammer.
Be arrogant around people interested in intellectual discourse, not around those who aren't. Even today, people are just waiting for established research or doing their own research to overturn landmark knowledge they genuinely do not believe in or detest. God's major enemies came from the seminary. They're much more resistant to the truth than someone who has trusted God all their lives because of what they read in the Bible.
Sometimes I miss the days when I talked to my brother, and his bed was just beside mine. That's been the case for two decades. We're only separated by a meter, and our conversation shifts within a minute. He never bored me. We still understand each other. I never had anyone with that level of connection, or my brother's IQ is just that high. Either way, having an extremely reliable sibling who's actually more mature than I am is a blessing. My parents said there should be two of us, and they prayed for a male so someone would protect me. Then there's him with two biblical names. I always asked why my name is different. It's supposed to be Daniel. I could have used Ellie as a nickname. "God is my light." Now, all nicknames derived from mine result in a leader, from the given names to the surname, which means rock. And I've always had the task of establishing something. But I need and want someone. I was always fine without a partner. Now I realize I was with my brother all along.
One of the high school students who died in the Philippines' school shooting was a Christian. His mom said the child would not fight back when bullied and would simply say, "God will take care of them," because he was afraid of losing friends. He's now surrounded by the best friends he could ever have in heaven. I hope his parents find peace in the healing process. It's soul-wrenching to lose a child, even for a Christian, because of someone else's immorality. The loss will always be a consideration, but they will also find God amid grief and despair. The parents are blessed to have had a child who trusted in God and spoke about it openly.
The Tartan Army is scary. I don't want to be surrounded by 6-foot people, especially huge men doing a mob dance after their national team won. I look and feel like a pebble around them. Just watching them from the screen is causing anxiety.
Oh, there are Vikings from Norway, too.
...There's a humbling process about other people needing financial help. Yesterday, I spent the entire day memorizing for my final exam. I ended up with 93%. I still don't know where I went wrong. Reviewing digital analytics was challenging, but it should have been common sense if I had been practicing those skills as I got into advertising. Anyway, I wanted to buy clothes as a reward. I need a month of closet rehaul because of my hair. However, I have to consider other people's struggles. They're not even nice. A decade ago, I'd be crying with my parents, asking me to monitor my expenses to help other families. I still don't like the feeling, but something has changed profoundly. I thought I was generous. Perhaps God is stretching a virtue I think I have.
I'll just take the days I have to write a new research paper. The time I have for doing things earlier is also a reward.
I just want a Filipino taho. I should have gotten the street vendor's number to buy his goods. But I also need a HepA vaccine to be safe from street food.
Priorities... priorities...
Time Changer is a beautiful movie... It makes me sad as well.
"For me too?" Some people have never heard of that.
There are older people in churches who you can't be authentic around because they respond with condemnation when you really mean it. That's why children of pastors leave. Actually, this is why young people leave the church. People are mean. How can older people expect Gen Z to be more polite than the British when cartoons are getting worse by the day? Most babies can't read. They watch. They mimic what they hear and see. I watched classic movies this week, and there were no explicit sexual scenes 26 years ago. Today, sex starts at the high school prom. It's distasteful to watch small bodies being sensual. Cartoon characters are self-centered, woke, and irritable, unlike 20 years ago, when friends and siblings saved the day. Protagonists today (e.g., Strawberry Shortcake's Summer Vacation vs. the Classic) act like bullies when they see that a wrong has been done. Why can't people be much more understanding before correcting something? Getting back at someone does not correct the root cause, and affirming a wrong puts a band-aid on a terminal disease. This is what older people (including me, a young instructor or manager) are dealing with. Instead of pushing children away, adults should take them, listen without facial expressions that look worse than Rugrats' Angelica's, and correct them patiently.
I'm watching Voicemail for Isabelle, and the intro played Dancing on My Own by Robyn, which my brother and I loved listening to. I miss my sibling. I wish I could be with him in the same hemisphere. Jill is also a chef.
My brother's high school classmate experimented with my hair, which ended up getting red. And I remembered a cute knitted vest with my country's volcano to pair with a navy blue denim skirt. Then, I realized that if I put everything together with my usual facial expression, I would look like Charmander. When I lose weight and start looking like a full-pledged woman, Charizard.
I'll stick with blues without the volcano.
A retired physician learned AI through animation and came to me for technical advice. I think he's cool. Perhaps I learned AI and animation to assist someone else, who'd help similar causes. I rested on it because of research, but God is sending several people to do what I'm supposed to be doing. And I'm still part of the process. Nothing is wasted. It's been done for a reason. I might be doing this pro bono, but looking back at all my volunteer initiatives, God poured in the income when I worked full-time, so my actual industry experience, effort, and monetary value balanced out.
God will lead someone to failure if that's what it takes to humble a person. The fall can be so hard and public, and the demise is not something for people to rejoice over, for it serves as a warning to everyone. A person can also seek God's anointing for their desired position and lose it immediately, but that's for their good. God removes them to fix their error immediately. That's the answer to their prayer. He's teaching them something in their humiliation. God can also take a position away from a person to save them from impending organizational failure that they will not cause, but that others around them are planning. That's God saving their reputation, because they will be used to recommend someone God wants there. God can also break a relationship apart to stop two people from continuously sinning. There's someone meant for that person, and they don't have to hurry about finding another. And even if one never finds someone else, they will be built to fine on their own. They are never really alone. Some people also do not need healing. There's something valuable in continuous suffering, as seen in people who accept it. It removes jealousy. Pain removes several distractions because it directs them to one or a few tasks they can do well. That leads them to love the one task they can do; yet they can also explore other tasks with their working faculties. What they do inspires others. The character of some people who receive miraculous healing does not improve. Some even get worse after. Children who lose their loved ones, particularly their provider, are shown that God provides. An individual also does not need to physically lose anyone; sometimes God sends them to places without their financial and emotional support, and He takes over. God is in the failure.
Why do I like submitting a paper two weeks before the deadline? No-no-n0. I mean, I only have two weeks to prepare (because I just saw it). And I submit on or three days before the deadline. My parents won't allow me to do extreme sports, but I get the same thrill with these two-week deadlines and see the results. The acceptance feels like landing in an open field safely after paragliding. It feels nice on the chest.
