Who breathes on leaves and turns them to crisping gold? Who trails her fingers over petals and wills them to hide? Who skips through forests unseen but leaves a trail of auburn grace? My name is Hazel and I'm the spirit of Autumn, Guardian of the children. My centre: Truth.

The spirit couldn't help but feel a little bemused at his reaction. Didn't she just float from a tree branch? Usually people would feel a little - well - uncomfortable. "That's not what I said," Hazel replied slowly. "I only mean to convey that it is unusual for someone like yourself to appear in this part of the woods. Did I say you weren't aloud? Did I say that it were a crime? No."

Pitch chuckled, watching the young spirit. “Isn’t that a little rude, wouldn’t you think?” He commented, stepping over the pile of mussed leaves.

It was getting late, the sun fading beneath the horizon while swirling red and gold hues of light took its place.

He leaned against the side of the building. “I don’t usually make it a point to meet the other spirits in person- unless they give me offense, of course- but you’re an interesting one.”

Hazel winced at the unfamiliar voice and glanced over her shoulder and chuckled once she realised who it was. She had heard of Pitch briefly from the Man on the Moon, but she never had had the opportunity of meeting him. "Perhaps a little rude," she replied with a sigh. She twirled a finger in the air and the pile reformed. "You happy now?" Hazel felt the golden light blanket the scene around her. A cool breeze gently tugged at her red locks and she smiled. Her eyes flickered up to him, observing his every move like a hawk. Hazel tilted her head back suspiciously at his comment. "Interesting huh? I'm just going to take that as a compliment."

You'd think Autumn would be a busy season for her (which it was) but the redhead had managed to tick everything off her mental checklist. Having currently nothing important to do, she spent the majority of her day messing up neatly raked leaf piles in people's gardens.          ► Hmm, ◄ Hazel mused, her mouth twitching into a grin. She feigned a thoughtful expression as she observed the mound of crisp, dead leaves on someone's front porch. ► Looks like they put a lot of time and effort into that.◄ She gave a wave of her hand and an invisible force sent the pile to explode, sending a sea of red, gold and brown to erupt into the air. ► Whoops.◄
