My writing style is very autobiographical. I think I often go into a session and feel like by the time I’ve left, I’ve been a bit too honest there. I think, just naturally, through my upbringing and the kinda place that I grew up, I don’t really struggle to kinda speak about myself.

Here’s my in depth (sort of) analysis on this interview.

Firstly, Zane Lowe is a fantastic interviewer. He is respectful of Harry and is asking questions that are respectful and insightful.

When you learn interviewing techniques they always tell you to make it a conversation- and Zane did just that. It’s really hard to do that and I haven’t seen a really good example of that in pop culture for a long time, so this was really refreshing.

And his questions are very open ended. He never asks about Harry’s love life when not relating to a song and he never assumes the gender (something I’ve never seen and really appreciated that). He actually only starts to use the she series pronouns when Harry mentions it was his ex-girlfriend (in regards to Cherry).

He lets Harry and his team control the narrative and doesn’t force the one the press wants on Harry. He even lets Harry speak about why he hates being a sex symbol.

Regardless of what this interview is saying it’s a very open ended interview with a really good look into Harry himself.

And an almost hour long interview with just Harry? How did we deserve this??
