The Knight Bus || Mike & Liv

He disagreed. It used to frustrate him how differently they saw his situation but now, all it did was make his heart ache. There were quite a few people who viewed his circumstances as being alive and in a way he supposed they were right. He could talk to people, he still looked like himself…but the things he had done, things he couldn’t tell Olivia…those things weren’t done by Michael Darling. Michael Darling was a recovering drug addict who loved his family and couldn’t even bring himself to fight a werewolf even at the defense of his own life. He had killed so many werewolves…runty werewolves, weak ones but he did it all the same. He could feel the last of Michael’s good soul slipping away and what it was leaving behind was monstrous, vicious and cruel. Who he was, no longer had a destination, he was the destination. There was no coming back from him.
All that said and being what it was, it didn’t seem to be doing him much good to dwell on it or give it much thought and it was so hard to explain t to others. “I’ve been very curious to find out. Nothing I hope,” he said absently, “a second chance would also be cool, even if it were just as a dog or something.”
The Knight bus was coming. Olivia heard its tell tale whiz as it zoomed through London. “I hope there is something out there. I would like to think that the time we spent with those we love could live on past our existence.” Olivia would love to see her mother again. She felt jipped by life. She wanted more time with her. She had an eternity of questions. An afterlife was hope to get those questions answered.
The screeching of the brakes filled the air. “Anyway, Michael, I do hope to see you soon.” She offered him a hug. “Thank you.” Olivia grinned without having to hold back the tears.
