Finished two felt handmade ornaments of mating leopard slugs. This is the only time of the year I allow myself to use glitter and I must say, it fits their mating organs perfectly! 

I’m planning on selling ornaments, but I don’t think I’ll have the time to finish them before Christmas, so I’ll probably list them next year (my ornaments will stay throughout the whole year obviously…)

Inktober day 6: SWORD

10/10 entomologists agree that a sword fighting praying mantis would be the tightest shit ever.

i met this little dude while doing restoration work at a prairie! his tibia was very short and he had no tarsus on the very short one he had. he was getting in my way when i was trying to get rid of the teasel so i plopped him on my had and he stayed put for a good twenty minutes. 

here he is peeking over the brim of my hat!

Hey I was wondering if maybe you or one of your followers could help me figure what this lil fella is? I can’t get any great pictures cuz he’s like 1/5 of a finger in size but I’m rly curious ;v;

Hi hi!! Looks like you’ve got a green lacewing on your hands! The adults don’t feed on other insects, but the larvae are voracious predators that, like ladybugs, can eat mounds of aphids per day!

I found a friend today!

This is only the third one we’ve ever seen in the 20 years we’ve lived here.

Soon as I was done photographing It I knelt down to get a closer look and it jumped on my glasses. It was adorable 😍
