1850’s Menswear: A RoyalThornoliaChronicles and BatsfromWesteros Collaboration

Surprise!

A project months in the making finally sees the light of day!

I’m so excited to introduce not only my first piece of CAS cc ever, but to also share with you thousands of recolours for these two suits. If you believe my use of the word ‘thousands’ is an overstatement…well…hold on to your bonnet.

Each suit comes in six basic trouser colours (Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Red, and Purple), with each trouser colour coming with three separate package files: Solid, Patterned, and Plaid. Each of the solid and plaid files have 100 swatches, while each of the patterned files have 73 swatches. There is also a mourning set for each suit, coming with 44 swatches each.

In total? That’s 3,364 swatches!

Anyone who knows me knows just how much I value variety, and while it seems excessive, I’ve never been more excited. Especially when it comes to making sure that our Mid-Victorian Men are given the variety they deserve.

This month I am working on a number of recolours in relation to various victorian male outfits. Because, as always, our men need more variety when it comes to their wardrobe, particularly with what little options we have as of now in the Victorian Sims Realm.

Each file has its own basic trouser colours (Black, Blue, Brown, and White), and have100 swatches each.Just another effort to give our Mid-Victorian Sims the variety they deserve. And this is only part one of a several part project, so be on the lookout for more content in the next few weeks! ;)

Decade Lookbook: 1910’s Part 2

Fashion from 1910 to 1919 in the Western world was characterized by great opulence in the first half of the decade– a stark contrast with the somber practicality of garments worn during the Great War, or WWI.

Men’s pants were worn cuffed to ankle-length and creased. Skirts rose from floor length to well above the ankle and women began to bob their hair.

Let me introduce you to CHATEAU Part 2, a 37-item set for your Chateaus entrance and hallways.

An area that I was always longing to have more items for was a 'grand foyer'. I simply wanted to have proper french stairs but was too afraid of trying out creating them. I pulled myself together and made the stairs plus additional pieces such as curved landings and suitable french fence and railing pieces. Now that I made stone stairs, in the future I will also create a wooden one, the possibilities are endless :D.

Another Area I haven't touched for quite some time is proper historical pieces, but a chateau set can't live without them. I sat down and created a Lous XV console table as a full and quarter version ( actually I found a console table at Hotel de la Marine in Paris and had to recreate it with a twist and incorporated a Plumbob) and a Rococo Mirror inspired by an original from Athena Calderone's apartment. The Mirror comes in three height options. I also made a hanging light and a wall sconce. Two additional items that are less historic but more rustic are a round table, perfect for giant bouquet displays, and a potted Fiddle Leaf tree :)

In this month's set, you will also find a classic Parisian wooden floor, a black and white stone floor, and wallpaper with handpainted patterns( Which I created myself from scratch). I also didn't want to miss out on interior doors :)

Lady Georgiana Harrington’s style is on the cusp of high fashion in the late Edwardian period. Her dresses and suits are all representative of the type of forward-facing, luxurious clothing that young wealthy women wore at this time.

Despite the luxurious and trendy nature of her wardrobe, it is still not ostentatious. Rather, it has a sort of old-world, refined wealth that harkens to her aloof but elegant demeanor. Similarly, it leans heavily into rich, but still cold, jewel tones that are not excessively ornamented or frilly. Rather, she prefers her ornamentation in the form of a wide variety of custom jewelry, set with precious stones and multi layers of pearls.

Her lookbook is also governed by a different set of outfit categories than we see in the majority of Darlington lookbooks. Rather than having outfits designed around practical use or weather, Lady Georgiana’s looks are determined by time of day and specific outings. Like most women of her status in this period, this dictated up to eight outfit changes a day, with a minimum of a different outfit worn for each meal and frequent changes in between.

While indicative of her class and wealth, this is also representative of the sort of life that Lady Harrington leads. Her very dress is governed by strict rules of propriety and decorum. Her choice to wear her evening gowns during the day or her morning gown as a house dress is thus not only a personal eccentricity, but an attempt to make herself comfortable and in control of her surroundings.

The last of our early-mid 1890s lookbooks is Oliver Darlington. Because he works such long hours, his wardrobe is dominated by his work suit. His home suit is intended to be his work suit without the blazer and his cold weather is the same suit with a coat on top.

His formal and party wear are on-trend suits with the signature cravat and coat tails of the period. I imagine that his mother picked these out, as he has little interest in formal fashions.

His hot weather and outdoor wear best represent his style as they are what he wears on his off days. They are more casual than his other clothes and have a pastoral vibe, reminiscent of romantic poets or other upper class men who idealize rural life. He prefers knickerbockers to trousers, which were fashionable in late 19th century for younger boys and men in leisure or countryside pursuits.

Hello everyone!

It’s hard to believe, but I’ve just reached another milestone today: over 3000 followers on Tumblr! 3006 as of now, to be precise. Thank you everyone so much!

I could see this day approaching already for some time and thought it’d be nice to make something special to celebrate it. And what could be a better gift than the one thing numerous people have asked me for - have been asking me for for months? So - here it is! It took lots of time and effort, not gonna lie, but I can finally proudly present to you my first late Victorian evening gown.

1893 bathing suit for women

Vintage Summer Collection pt. 1

Hello everyone!

Now that it’s almost July, I have a good excuse to start yet another collection - this time a summery one! The Vintage Summer Collection will consist of vintage swimsuits (or, should I say, bathing suits), but also - hopefully - of some hot weather wear. I mean, how many swimsuits can one possibly need? I assume it won’t grow as big as the winterwear collection (which is still not finished btw…), but thanks to this maybe will include also items from other decades. And/or bathing caps! Who knows? You’ll need to ask the future cube :P.

The first item is my take on a cute design from 1893. Comes in 15 swatches:
