I mean… I feel like we’ve been waiting for someone like Mr D-S to come along and well.. our patience has been rewarded. The jaw. The eyes. The perfect 5 o’clock shadow. HELLO DEVINE-STONEMAN!!!

Deets: James Devine-Stoneman (LIKE WHAT A NAME!!) from Southall in West London studying for a PhD in … wait for it.. superconducting spintronics (??)  at St John’s College Cambridge

Highlights: Just… shocking intellgence. Came out with shit that I wouldn’t have known in like 100 years of learning lol

Did they win? Absolutely SMASHED IT.

Deets: Kitty Chevallier from Hampshire studying Arabic and Hindi (!!) at Emmanuel College, Cambridge

Highlights: ?? Tbh I can’t remember but we’re here now and that’s all that matters

Did they win? Yes, and a very good excited face Kitty had about it too!

OKAY i’m a week late on some of these cuties, but i’ve had ~personal stuff~ going on so tbh i’m excused!! Episode 11 threw up a coupla cuties and maybe this one will be controversial? But idc, there’s something about a gawky guy that just does it for me... 

Deets: Daniel de Wijze from Manchester studying Earth Sciences at St Hugh’s College, Oxford

Highlights: I mean.. it was so shady that there were no women on this team from a historically all-female college but tbh the jumper and the glasses we’re a small consolation

Did they win? No, but it was so close!!!!! They’ll deffo be back I reckon :)

Just the one cutie ticking my (personal!) fancy this week, a classic boy-next-door (if you live in Scotland) with a solid team leadership and a solid knowledge of football. What more can you ask for?

Deets: Alastair Logan from Motherwell in Lanarkshire studying Mechanical Engineering at Strathclyde university. 

Highlights: Literally answered all the football questions without batting an eye

The one and only cutie from the last couple of weeks is a real triumph. This cutie was not only captain but also the stand-out supremo of this team by all accounts - without further ado...

Highlights: THAT HAIRLINEEE!!! Also the orange, also the nose ring, also the coffee beans, also the amazing leadership

The second mustard cutie - are they a secret couple?? We’ll never know - hunky captain Gray has got the perfect mix between sexy nerd and well-dressed academic - excellent work mate. 

Deets: Robert Gray from Kingston Upon Thames studying for a PhD in cell biology at UCL.

Highlights: I mean those ears are super unique and cute, and in the absence of anything else memorable, i’m going with that.

Some seeeeerious Colin Firth as Mr Darcy vibes from this cutie, no? The roll neck and the floppy hair are giving me a feeling of being on a cosy farm on a Sunday night with a stew.... or something... no YOU imagine too much okAY!!

Deets: Charlie Dowell from Chelmsford studying for an MSc in neuroscience at UCL.

Highlights: Had an iconique moment when he looked up like the answers to Paxman’s convoluted questions were on the ceiling hahaha

The first of two cuties wearing mustard yellow orange AKA the greatest colour on the spectrum. Unfortunately my pausing skills don’t do justice to Ms Rosenfeld’s smile, but let it be known that it was beaut!!

In an interesting and probably MA-worthy observation, this week’s losing team actually are massively winning in the cutie-stakes, as both our cuties are kindly donated by them.  First from this week (week 6! Already!!) we have Vanover!

Deets: Ty Vanover from Clintwood, Virginia studying for an MA in 19th c. art.

Highlights: THE FACES!! He had an adorable face grimace expression, which tbh is my face throughout the whole episode trying to guess literally any answer.

Did they win? Erm.. not exactly no.

Si, hola... me llamo Cuties of UC y te amo Daniel!!! Okay that’s the extent of my Spanish, but god knows i’d learn it all for this cutie! A proud representative for a stunning Warwick team.

Deets: Daniel Arribas (didn’t need to look it up again because the way he said it is now my ringtone tbh) from Madrid studying Maths at Warwick

Highlights: The way he said his name, contributions to amazing overall team banter.

Second in line and second cutie of the night - York definitely didn’t win but goddamn they brought a strong cutie game. Longworth is honestly such a zaddy and his twinkly eyes and hot-captain-birdseye-vibes truly earn him a spot on this blog. 

Deets:  Ben Longworth from Halifax studying for a PGCE in History (UM, IMAGINE HIM BEING YOUR TEACHER?? GOODBYE STUDYING)

Highlights: Looking like he’s on the wind down from the wedding night tbh. Plus their whole team’s perseverance in the face of adversity!!

Did they win? No, despite best efforts. Farewell ya cutie.

First things first person on the show first. It’s a semi-bumper night tonight, on a show that was quite joyous to watch. 

Deets: Connor Bindler from London studying History at York

Highlights: He.... didn’t really pitch in much tbf BUT the intense way he said his name was really and truly enough for me.

Did they win? They...did not.

I go to York, and although I was very embarrassed by that performance, when I get back I will definitely be looking out for lovely Longworth if he's still around... Very handsome, and a fellow history student (even though I'm a BA and he's a PGCE)!

Honestly if you can even catch a glimpse of ol' twinkly eyes you will have been blessed!!! His addition is-a comin' right up :)
