one day i’ll figure it out

these last couple weeks since losing my job have been very difficult. i’ve lost my routine and i can’t get anything done and i feel like i’ve lost myself.

im constantly overwhelmed and anxious.

in the last couple weeks with hours getting cut and i’m working less days it’s actually taking a toll on my mental health and it’s making me miserable. i’m always tired, i’m constantly annoyed

i just feel stuck and i want out but every time i go on websites and look for a new job im always so defeated because everything is so bleak.

sure i could go back to school through my job but id be stuck there for another 4 years and i just don’t really wanna be locked into this job for another four years

Afrer a long phone conversation with my brother, i came to a decision. I have decidied, after five years, to go back to school and get a degree. This shit is not going to be easy but man, it’ll be fuckin worth it. I’ve made a ton of question choices but this one will be the best.

I know this is supposed to be funny, but does it horrify anyone else that social media is being used by employers to monitor how happy we are to be slaves to capitalism and if we aren’t 1000% enthusiastic about having to work, you’re immediately terminated? He says “Good luck with your no money, no job life” but the implication is pretty clear–”Good luck starving to death because you didn’t live to serve me/my company”

So if you express a feeling about your job/working/capitalism on your own social media space that doesn’t please your employers, you’re punished.

This is actually illegal in the US, by the way. There’s a thing called the National Labor Relations Act that protects your right to complain about your job (the reasoning being if you can’t complain you can’t find other employees with similar complaints to start a union with).
