Standing in such close proximity to him was usually more so an act of tolerance or laziness than an actually intended movement. How he had managed to talk her into this performance was therefore a mystery to her. Expression carefully kept professional, she was after all in the drama club for her great acting abilities. That she was silently plotting his murder was hidden beneath a mask of pain and longing expressed through graceful movements and knitted brows.
The more she had to reach for him, the more he had to touch her, Cecilia was reminded of the struggles she internally had while learning the choreography to this dance. A person she had left behind two years ago was returning to her, making her relive memories and refeel emotions she had sworn to have banned from her life. The fine line between acting and losing yourself in memories was hard to see when lost in a creative act. Yet she managed, at least somehow. In the end she could, would, still pretend it had all just been an act.
With his eyes kept on her as they performed on stage, he could sense a little tension within her. As their bodies were a close proximity, his eyes gave her a look as if to say 'trust me'.
By the dance break of the song, bodies twisting as accompanied her with the popping motion of his hands and her body, he laid his hand over her heart, as part of the choreography, he gave her an intense look. Before he stepped away, and circled around her, eyeing her movements. With one last look at her, he turned away as the lights dimmed the stage.
He felt strange, why he had asked her to do this specific dance was beyond him, but something within him felt strange, just the thought of the story of the dance, and everything that had happened.
