Christabella -- known as Chris or Christi to her family -- was born and raised in the small mining town of Silent Hill, West Virginia. On the surface, she served the community as the headmistress of Midwich Elementary School; however, she also played a more private role amongst her people, which was of a much darker nature. As the leader of a religious cult known as the Brethren, Christabella held a position of dangerous power. Serving an enigmatic god, her cult were essentially self-proclaimed witch hunters, and anyone they deemed to be a witch or a demon was captured and taken to a secluded sacrificial chamber to be "purified" -- a.k.a burned alive.
When Christabella's sister, Dahlia Gillespie, gave birth to a child out of wedlock -- which, among the Brethren, was considered a severe sin -- Christabella immediately condemned the child, Alessa Gillespie, as a witch. This led Alessa to endure a life of hell, often abused and bullied by her classmates at Midwich Elementary. This behavior was not only overlooked by Christabella and her followers, but encouraged amongst their children. On several occasions, Christabella confronted her sister, claiming that Alessa needed to be "purified", and assured Dahlia that the child's innocence would be restored. Dahlia eventually agreed to this, though Christabella never revealed to her sister what the "purification" process entailed. It was only until Dahlia arrived at the Grand Hotel -- where the Brethren's sacrificial chamber was held -- and Christabella's followers seized Alessa by force that Dahlia realized her sister's true intentions and fled from the hotel to fetch the police.
However, when the police arrived, Alessa was already at the brink of death due to her severely charred body. With Christabella and her followers having fled from the scene prior to the arrival of the authorities, Alessa was taken to Brookhaven Hospital to be treated for her burns. It was there that the pain and suffering she had endured for nine years finally took its toll on her, and her passionate hatred for all of those that caused said pain and suffering triggered an onset of immense supernatural powers and split her soul to form an entity known as Dark Alessa. Together, Alessa and Dark Alessa created the Fog World and the Otherworld -- two alternate realities which reflected Alessa's fractured psyche. In retribution for their cruelty, Christabella and the Brethren were pulled into the Fog World, which initially consisted entirely of the town of Silent Hill. This new world in which Christabella is now trapped in is full of grotesque, malevolent creatures that hunt and slaughter the cultists at every opportunity.
Christabella and the Brethren found sanctuary in their church, which -- due to their blind conviction -- is the only place that Alessa and her monsters cannot enter. In denial of the fact that their predicament was their own doing, Christabella convinced her followers that the apocalypse has occurred, and that they were the only ones pure enough to survive the "demon's" wrath. Now, she serves as the High Priestess of their church and very rarely leaves it, assigning the task of venturing out into the Fog World and fetching supplies to her followers. Should any of them be caught outside of the church once the Fog World shifts to the Otherworld for every several hours, they would be brutally murdered by Alessa's monsters.
Christabella has two sisters, Dahlia Gillespie and Claudia Wolf, a niece, Alessa Gillespie, and a nephew, Vincent Cooper. While she has no children of her own, she plans to change that in order to ensure that her bloodline remains in power over the Brethren. Christabella and her followers have thus been imprisoned within Alessa's dark reality for roughly thirty years, but within this reality, it would appear that time has essentially paused or slowed down. It is because of this that, while Christabella is chronologically over the age of 60, she is still physically under 40.
Hair: A thick, dark brown mop of tangles that she keeps pulled up in piles atop her head.
Eyes: Pale blue, sometimes grey.
Face: Round but slightly gaunt, with a hardened jaw and low, wide cheekbones.

Physique: Chris has an average and slender build for a woman, standing at 5'6". She has a proud, upright posture that tends to give the illusion that she is bigger and more intimidating than truth would have it.

Strenghts: Despite her thin and seemingly frail frame, she is actually quite physically strong. There are those that have witnessed this first-hand that would say her grip is like iron, able to cut the circulation of blood-flow from one's wrists. Christabella is incredibly cunning and manipulative as well as power-hungry. She often preys on the weak, feeding off of the fear and insecurity of her followers. She disguises this manipulation for what it truthfully is as an act of caring, a concern for her people's well-being. Because of this, her people symbolize her as a beacon of hope, and they would blindly follow her anywhere and obey her every command. This makes her a very dangerous woman.
Weaknesses: Although she feeds off of the insecurities of others, Christabella is quite insecure herself, and she hates this being pointed out more than anything. If anyone attempts to stand up to her or call her bluffs, she can become irrationally angry. This can either be a horrible disadvantage for the other person, or an interesting opportunity to play her. While Chris is not easy to fool or outwit, is has certainly happened before

Synopsis: As stated before, Christabella has an insatiable lust for power and control. With a compulsive and obsessive nature, it is not wise to cross her, as she is not a woman to let things go and has been known to hold a grudge for years. If she so sees it fit, she can condemn anyone a witch, and with the immense level of control she has over her people, that person is sure to suffer their wrath.
Christabella is filled with raw, overwhelming anger that weighs down upon one that so much as enters the same room with her, though she often keeps it hidden in the form of a twisted smile that doesn't meet her eyes. She lacks both sympathy and empathy, often disregarding the affects that her words and actions have on other people. If she behaves in kindess or generosity, it is because she deems it necessary in order to further her own personal agenda and goals. Make no mistake, Chris lacks the ability to genuinely care or worry for anyone, including her own people.
