“No, it definitely does. I was just wondering because I randomly cuddle people a lot. People I care about, I mean. I just wanted to make sure you were cool with it.” She drapes an arm over his chest. “I get cuddly when I’m bored. It’s an attention thing.”

“Oh, okay.” That made a lot more sense now that she explained it. “Thanks for asking. I gotta say, culturally it’s very weird, but I’ve had a few years to get used to how affectionate the future can be.” He pulled her closer, tucking her head under his. “Alright then. Attention it is.”

She chuckled. “Do you think global warming is surprising? When you look at our industrialist society, it’s not all that shocking.” Ally sat up and squished herself against his side. “Do you like to cuddle?”

He gave her a shrug. “I guess the end of the world wasn’t really on our minds back then. Let alone something so passive as industrial progress.” A brow rose at her. It wasn’t so much the affection; he was used to that. “Sure,” was his reply, curious as to where she was trying to go. “Does this not count?”

“Boring.” She looked up at him and flicked her fingers, ruffling his air with a little puff of air. “What were you reading?”

He kind of gave her a look of resignation. It wasn’t like it was anything interesting, in the grand scheme of things. “Global warming. And here I thought cell phones were the biggest surprise of the twenty first century.”

“Boring day,” she clarified, reaching up to grab one of his arms and pull it over her. “What about you? Slow day?”

He complied, tucking it around her. “I wouldn’t call it the most productive,” he laughed a little at himself, letting the paper he had been reading fall onto the couch cushion. “Peaceful though.”

Ally walks over to where Bucky is lounging and sits down next to him only to lay down, head in his lap. “Hi.”

His arm instinctively moved out the way, letting her get comfortable. “Hello,” he said in response as he spared her a glance. “Slow day?”

“I can’t design to save my life. We’ll have to find someone else.”

“Got any ideas?”

Jensen starts licking away at Bucky’s face, and a few moments later Ally comes running in. “Hey, sorry. He heard you walking and got excited. He loves everyone.” 

“That’s okay. I think I love him, too,” he said amidst the flurry that was Jensen, slobbering his affection all over Buck. “Easy, boy.”

"BUCKY INCOMING!" Just as she screams in warning, Ally's dog comes bounding into the room and jumps onto Bucky, tail wagging.

“Oh, sh–” he said in anticipation, dropping down to one knee and extending his arms out. He caught the dog with ease; it was coming right for him.

“Now normally I wouldn’t care, but if I’m going to be Captain America’s sidekick I’m not going to break theme. Come on old man.”

“Draw me up some designs. I’ll get someone on it.”

[smolspeed]

“Well green and blue don’t exactly match.”

[cxptbarnes]

“Yeah, I guess that could be a problem.”

[smolspeed]

“Speaking of which, are you gonna get me a new suit?”

[cxptbarnes]

“... Did you.. want a new suit?” 

[smolspeed]

“Jokes on you I’m already covered in dirt,” he stuck his hands out and slid them down the others arms.  “Dirt! Dirt! Dirt!”

That caught him off guard. “Oh. You got me there.”

[smolspeed]

“That’s fine. I’m totally posting on all the superhero forums that Captain America is a reckless driver. But it’s fine.”

He almost snapped back in response, but then he realized something. “Throw dirt on me,” he shrugged. “Ya throw dirt on you, sidekick.”

He moved his hands down Bucky’s back, massaging it. His hands were a bit firm but it was obvious he’d known a rougher life with his hands the way they were. He was really gentle with the metal arm though. “That’s right, doctor’s orders.”

There were a few stages to it. At first, in some areas especially around where he got hit, it was painful. Sharp enough to make him clench his teeth. But as he continued, he didn’t want it to stop. “Holy hell, that’s nice,” he said with a sigh, his back beginning to relax.

“So like half? Maybe even less than that.”

“You’ll never know.”
