So after being mentioned on about eighty thousand (three) of these today, I thought, “Hey, this is a good excuse to edit something silly in PS.” And thus here we are! New Year, Old Jokes, and me rambling about how much I love people. I’m trying to remember what all even happened this year? I think nothing terribly bad, so that’s good. I started college and got good grades, and pet cats, and made new friends, and drank tea, and watched things. Hopefully next year will be even better, for me and all of you guys!

“...Eh? You’re here again? Isn’t boring just sitting by the beach?” Seriously, what was this girl even doing? He may have dropped out of school, but she was just as weird as he remembered. He’d lost count of how many times he caught sight of her just looking out at the ocean but not actually going to Sweet Beach’s most famous tourist trap... jeez, did this commoner not know how to use her brain, or did she just not have one?
HIS WORDS WENT OVER her head and astrid simply stared at him. she did hope he would say it in simpler terms. and fortunately he did “oh, orchids! yes yes, i do have some orchids here.” nodding once, she walked over to the few she had set out, all varying in color. “here they are. choose whichever one you would like for your…um….what did you need it for?” he had rambled about so much, but she didn’t recall him ever stating why he needed the orchids.
His Cursed Blood suddenly froze, as if his soul was imprisoned in the Cage of Ice once more. He wasn’t sure why he was hesitant to answer, but it felt like the Dark Forces had arrested his vessel in a moment of weakness. Truthfully, there was no reason to not divulge this information to the Keeper of the Eternal Glen, but his voice took on a hushed tone nonetheless. “I... need them for my comrade, Edel Blau. I was told they would strengthen the bond between us in the upcoming battle against Himnesia.” Or in the Apostle of the Violet Rose’s wise words, “Flowers are the way to a lady’s heart, mon ami!”

Perhaps it was a bit uncouth to simply call out to a wanderer in the Abyss, but surely a small conversation would not cause any harm. It was getting a little lonely down here, anyways. A lithe hand landed on the stranger’s shoulder for the briefest of moments. Though, maybe this wasn’t a stranger at all.
“Ah... you there. Thank you... for helping fulfill her wish.” Whether this was the same soul or one from a different story, didn’t matter; the Intention was simply content to deliver gratitude on both their behalves.
sorry for the slowness! lately i tend to get tired in the middle of the day and end up not getting anything done....rip
i’ll get to the rest of the drafts soon but for now please look at this picture of haze and this actual thing he says in the update:
⦓ ♠ ⦔ It wasn’t that Nezumi particularly disbelieved in things like psychics, but two main factors fed into his skepticism of the other’s words: first, he was surrounded by people who would say anything to make a quick buck, and second, he was surrounded by people who were angry and bitter. Mentioning that he had a grudge was hardly a lucky guess considering it applied to just about everyone in West Block. “Yeah, like I said, no thanks. I’m not interested.”
Ah, what a pain. It wasn’t as if he was trying to swindle the guy, you know. In fact, Haze was doing him a favor. Though an exorcism went for the low, low price of 500,000 Won with no additional fees, buying a charm and preventing evil spirits from entering your home in the first place only cost a fraction of that. “Look, I’m being a nice guy and offering you a deal; by the time a spirit comes and bites your ass off I don’t know if I’ll be in town anymore. You’d better make use of this limited-time offer.”
The teenager not giving even the slightest shit about the state of one of the museum windows wasn’t surprising at all - the real confusion kicked in when he mentioned banshees.
There weren’t any in Azakawa, as far as he was aware. The only supernatural creatures that had ever existed in the small village had disappeared months earlier. Still, one could never be too careful, so Suga unsheathed his sword - which was not glowing due to the lights being on in the museum - and approached the window that this stranger broke in through.
Banshees were a form of spirit, but maybe the shaking man could handle it if they came into the museum - except he couldn’t actually see any sort of banshees through the window. There were some of the village women wandering around, a little closer to the museum than most would usually go, and they seemed to be searching for something. But, they weren’t a real threat, just kind of mean to Suga.
Panic flickered across the Fallen Angel’s features; what was the Guardian of the Temple of Illumination doing?! Did he intend to lure the banshees here?! He... he wasn’t working with the Dark Sorcerer Wallenstein, was he...?!
“Gah! Get down!” A bandaged hand tugged at the hem other’s shirt from where he groveled on the ground, dragging him away from the window. Anghel caught sight of the Soul Snares the banshees were holding and felt a stab of pain assail his Crimson Breast. If he had gazed upon them any longer, he would have fallen victim to their heinous magics. A soul a sinful as his was especially vulnerable, but even a member of the Earthly Realm like the Guardian was not immune.
After taking a moment to calm his breathing, he looked the Guardian seriously in the eye. “They must have come here to attack while I am not among my comrades...” Edel Blau, Textoris Melodia Funeris, the Hallowed Magician of White... even the Sage of Nightmares was nowhere to be found. It was just his luck to get lost during a school trip. “As expected, my coming beckons calamity wherever I go... I fear we can only wait until the banshees take their leave. Attempting to combat them will only upset the fragile balance kept by Oberon.”
If a door disappeared, there was the assumption that it would remain gone unless purposefully summoned, the way Teacher’s had come back only when Teacher himself had purposefully returned to this World. That was the assumption with which Allen had based his plan.
But for whatever reason, when a door had opened up in the World and Allen had stepped through to explore it, he found it to be one that he was already well acquainted with. The realization had caused dismay and disbelief. Why would this be one that he already knew? Allen walked through it, quietly examining every detail, assuring himself this wasn’t the place he thought it was.
That is, until he wound up face-to-face with a familiar boy, who called his name quietly. He froze, golden eyes widening, staring in disbelief at the other boy. “Rick…” He didn’t know why this was happening, or how, but he did know that he hadn’t wanted this. Allen hadn’t wanted his friend to see him like this.
This... had to be another nightmare. And if he closed his eyes, it would surely pass. All he had to do was wait for the cat to tear him apart, and for the house to burn down to the ground...
But the eerie atmosphere made his hair stand on end and felt more real than the memories that played like a broken movie reel. At least in normal nightmares he knew what would come next and could brace himself. Instinct told him this wasn’t a normal dream, and he swallowed nervously when his eyes met Allen’s. Or was it the demon simply wearing his face? Fear froze him to the spot at the possibility.
“I thought...” Images of his last brush with the Cheshire Cat flashed through his mind. Running through the world until his lungs burned, scared cries from the other children, Teacher’s trembling hands ushering them through the final door... and the realization that Allen had stayed behind with that thing. “...I thought you were gone.” Rick wasn’t sure who he was talking to. Perhaps it was both the cat and the boy, but it would have been easier to consider his friend dead instead of transformed into the monstrosity before him.
《 ★ ⋮ “Well aren’t you a joker!” A light giggle escaped her lips, the smile on her face not wavering. “But to answer your question, I technically don’t have flowers for sale that can do that.”
...Ugh, were all the residents of CocoAlley this useless? And he thought Kotora was bad. “Okaaay... how about something that smells? Like, really smells.” Anything to make his older brother’s life more difficult would be ideal.

“Textoris Melodia Funeris! Heed my call! Where art thou in this battlefield?!” The Undertaker was to aid him on the Holy Crusade, yet the Crimson Angel did not sense his aura amidst the gathering of warriors. Had he taken the wrong path? Anghel thought it impossible, as his intuition was (nearly) infallible; then again, there were a good amount of maid cafes in the vicinity and the Undertaker had been vague in his haste to leave school. Perhaps if he continued to call out with his all his bloodstained-soul to the heavens, it would signal his arrival and draw his ally to him...

One would have thought escaping something as hellish as the Dream wouldn’t have left room for anymore unpleasant fantasies at night; after all, reliving their trauma in vivid detail with that... thing stalking them was more than enough horror for a lifetime. (But it was still just a dream, wasn’t it?)
Yet it seemed one nightmare could only be replaced by another, as she frequently dreamt of that place and the creature that taunted her from the shadows. It was even worse for him, with how he was torn apart in his dreams with teeth and claws as she looked on with fright. Tonight was another such occurrence, but there was something odd about this dream; for one, Letty was nowhere in sight, and secondly...
Secondly, the beast had its hood removed, the face of someone he recognized in place of the mangled corpse that normally sneered at him. “A-allen?” The name was whispered before he could stop himself. He internally cursed, not wanting to attract the demon’s attention, but he was frozen to the spot, transfixed by his friend’s face despite it fading into a blurry memory over time.

Grief was an odd thing to experience; he had felt nothing when he burned down their home, only feeling trace remnants of sorrow from Letty in contrast to his cold indifference. It wasn’t to say he didn’t feel anything, but he mourned the loss of Letty’s home rather than that witch. How odd it was that the feeling of loss bloomed when someone who wasn’t his family became mere memories of a nightmare.
Weeks, months, had passed since the... incident, and he still felt a pang of loneliness when he came across something as arbitrary as a misplaced book or a missing presence in the library. It was even worse for her; it felt like knives when she remembered another piece of her life had been taken away. And so, the choice was obvious when he noticed a black cat disappearing around the corner of one of the facility’s halls, knowing full well what the consequences entailed. He didn’t care, as long as he could alleviate his sister’s suffering. Down the rabbit hole again, Alice.
⦓ ♠ ⦔ Nezumi’s eyes narrowed at the offer. “Keep demons away?” Considering he’d had plenty of people refer to him as a demon, the prospect didn’t particularly appeal to him. Couldn’t banish his own kind, now could he? “No thanks. Go find someone else to scam.” Besides, it wasn’t like his stress or whatever was any of the other’s business.
Ouch. Rejected right off the bat. And to even be accused of scamming him... what a blow to his fragile heart (and bank account). “Well, I mean...” he squinted, attempting to bring into focus the faint mass of darkness following the other. “...that grudge you’ve got or whatever? It’ll probably attract a Dokkaebi or Gwisin if you let it manifest enough.” This was said as nonchalantly as possible, as if anyone would be able to see how obvious it was. Now hurry up and buy a charm.
