basically EA made an announcement clarifying the policy on custom content and putting it behind paywalls. creators cannot put their CC behind permanent paywalls. this has always been a rule but people ignored it lol. the first announcement left early access up in the air, but EA came back and clarified that creators can have early access. but it must be made free and available to the public within a “reasonable” time period...

so yeah, people have left the community over this, drafted up fake “cease and desist” letters from their lawyers, there’s been call-outs...and many CC creators have made announcements on their stances regarding the whole matter! you can find that here. that’s pretty much everything
