hi hello HELLO so i did just go through your rexsoka tag and as someone who just finished tcw and left the siege of mandalore arc feeling like drake and josh after they went on that rollercoaster
YEAH. YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. like, it is actually so insane to me that anyone would interpret those two during that arc as anything other than giggling teenagers with a crush! and it's even more insane to me that people get such a stick up their ass about them, considering they do not have this beloved/intense friendship or connection anywhere at all before this arc. it's giving Crush You Have on Your Older Brother's Friend. they're coworkers at best. and then she leaves and comes back after some maturing and growing and its like a real Reintroduction and it's clear that there is a different air between them. it's impossible to ignore it. and to claim that it's platonic? OH PLEASEEEEE.
not even sure if you're into sw at the moment but your opinions and thoughts and feelings are just so good and real and true To Me. and it's has been super discouraging to try and find art/other rexsoka fans and just be met with this Holier Than Thou attitude or like. defunct blogs and just bullies.

yesss the older brother friend thing that is exactly it. like the "girl with older brother goes off to college and comes back and suddenly her brother's best friend is like '...OH'" trope dude. it's not as though this would be the first time that's happened ✌️😭
thank you so much!!! now i'm kinda tempted to draw them again haha. yeah the whole moral superiority streak in fandoms lately can be really discouraging :/ it's like no one's willing to hear you out or let you explain, they just get an idea in their head and that's just how it is regardless of how YOU feel about it. like i get why someone might be confused at first but then just ask, don't start running around calling people insane and evil 😭😭
yess omg seeing some of the veterans not be active anymore made me sad 😭 it really reached popularity back when s7 came out and now it's back to being pretty much an almost-rarepair from what i can tell but THAT'S OKAY because we will never let it die 🙂↕️
to kind of expound upon what you said, i think the thing that irritates me the most is when people say it's "wrong" because they act like siblings. like okay first off acting like siblings has never in the history of the world actually Made You Related, and second of all no they don't?? it just blows my mind because like okay. they set up how she interacts with anakin which is totally a sibling thing. they joke with each other, they make fun of each other, everything is a contest, they off-load responsibility onto each other, sure. and they even show how HE interacts with people he thinks of as siblings literally all the time because it's practically the point of the show itself. and it's... nothing like their dynamic? at all??? like before season 7 i guess you could say they were friendly but calling them "super close intense friends and even familial" is just like... straight up not even true 😭 for the most part she is *just* his superior officer and yeah they'll crack a joke now and then but rex is sooo by-the-book and straight-laced literally until The End of the Show. that new dynamic shift was literally so Different from the way it had been before that i GENUINELY thought they were gonna do something with it when it first came out, and that had never once crossed my mind before (for obvious reasons). like one can PREFER a certain kind of dynamic all they want and that's absolutely fine, but to insist that that's the dynamic they actually have *in the show* and that any other interpretation is both technically wrong and outright morally wrong is just... huh?? like i'm sorry have you seen EITHER of the hangar scenes 😭😭 and y'know, interpreting that as platonic is fine. *i* don't see it like that, but i just wish that since some people don't see it that way that more of the people who do would be less "well i'm right and you're wrong and you're also evil and should kill yourself" about it like my guy this is a kids' show. can we relax.
but yeah sorry for the rant. it does just grind my gears, much like you said 😔 and unfortunately i kind of have a thing for getting into the super deep, emotionally-complex relationships with lots of lore implications that 96% of the fandom thinks were cooked up in the sixth circle of hell for some inexplicable reason
