Good morning, beautiful friends,

It’s my last day before the semester starts again! I can’t wait. Some professors have already uploaded slides, so I will be starting to study at around 8 pm.

I visited this beautiful library again. It is so breathtakingly gorgeous!

To do list for today:

Work on my project “SchoolStainability”

Work on my tasks for the sustainabily group for the G20 summit in New Delhi

Memorize the first slide deck of Business Ethics (and order my professor’s book on Climate Ethics because I’m super interested in that)

i keep seeing posts about “how to get addicted to studying” and i cant help but feel a bit frustrated. i am all for loving what you’re studying in school and being consistent to get the grade you want but i also feel like people have really just forgotten the importance of rest?? i am a student, i wouldn’t say that i love what i study but i enjoy it and there is nothing more i want than to just lounge around and be a couch potato for this next week and a bit before i go back to school so that i feel energized enough to put my best foot forward next semester. if you want to study during the break, that is amazing and i am in awe of your discipline but for those of you who do not want to study and just want to relax, please do not feel guilty or like you aren’t doing enough 🤍

please keep in mind that learning is always a process. learning to draw, dance, play an instrument, but also learning to say no, learning to start conversations, learning to be more comfortable in your own skin. it’s great setting goals for yourself, as long as you allow yourself to get there gradually instead of immediately wanting to be the best at it (and setting unrealistic standards for yourself because of it). change is rarely a single moment during which everything suddenly shifts, but rather a period of time in which you learn and adjust and improve. you’ll get there, but you must give yourself time to do so.

Hi, it’s werelivingarts. I’ve been creating contents about academic life, but I realize that I leave out many students who are having ADHD that can make studying very challenging. I’m a no expert in this field, but I’ve been researching some tips that ADHD students find useful. Therefore, I really hope that some of the tips can help you to make studying less boring and easier! ❤️

Remember: Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re being silly, or lazy, or fussing over nothing. They are trying to apply rules that work for standard brains. You don’t need to explain anything, it is nobody’s business but yours. Don’t let anybody shame you or push you around. All you need to do is smile and say, “Well, it works for me.” 💙💜💻

for those who do not love their education deeply

you are not 'spoilt'

you are not 'wasting' anything or anyone's time

the educational system is awful & you have every right to speak out against it

a teacher must teach you, but they must also entertain and encourage you. if they do not, that is out of your control

most dark academics are making the best of a bad situation

your mental health matters more than grades

not every subject will thrill & excite you. not enjoying literature, poetry or art doesn't make you a 'fake' academic

you can enjoy a subject without studying it & you have every right to say you enjoy it

barely passing or failing a course is not the end of the world. you will get better, whether that means continuing the course or dropping it for your true passion

sometimes you're not good at something, even if you love it. don't sacrifice your mental & physical health to pass a course that you find impossible, but let yourself enjoy it if you can

remember your worth is not in your grades.
