You know what, looking back on it, my friends and I survived the Bush Presidency

We would have survived a McCain Presidency

We would have survived a Romney Presidency

I honestly worry that there are some people who would not survive a Trump Presidency

I don’t care how much you love Gary Johnson, or Jill Stein. On November 8, 2016, one of two things will be true: either Hillary Clinton will be elected President, or Donald Trump will be elected President.

Which one, HONESTLY, would be worse?

This isn’t the year to “vote your conscience.”

There’s a fucking dangerous man one election away from being President.

This is the year to vote to survive.

Any other year, this would be an exaggeration. We survived Bush, we could have survived McCain or Romney. This year, Trump’s danger is no exaggeration.

Don’t vote your conscience, vote to survive.

Now that it’s almost 2020, can you see that this wasn’t a fucking exaggeration

Do you understand now

This is going around again and now that we’re in the Democratic Primaries and y'all are already saying about how you’ll stay home if you’re favorite doesn’t win I’d just like to remind y'all that people are dying in the Trump administration

People are dying in concentration camps at the border

Trump rolled back Obamacare and now millions more people are without insurance

Trump is rolling back environmental regulations and climate change and pollution will kill us

States are banning abortion which will affect millions of poor women and women of color and SCOTUS night overturn Roe v Wade

Hate crimes against Jews and people of color and LGBT people are going up

There are Nazis in the White House and marching in the streets

And Trump has given tax cuts to billionaires and appointed judges that will take away your constitutional rights

Are you happy with your choice to vote third party? To stay home? Was it worth it? Was all of this worth it?

We’re facing the same choice again. We can’t have four more years of this.

Fight like hell for your candidate in the primaries. Then if and when they lose, get in line behind the winner.

We failed in 2016. The life and death stakes in 2020 are even higher.

Vote. For. Democrats.

Tens of thousands of people are dead y'all. Obama and Biden had an entire infrastructure, a system to deal with pandemics and Trump abolished the office and ignored reports of the virus for months

When the curve of infections increases exponentially, even acting one day earlier could have saved thousands of lives

And Trump ignored it for months

Unemployment is now higher than at any time since the great depression

I knew people would die but I never imagined that Trump would be responsible for this many deaths and the worst economic disaster in a century

We have to vote for Biden. I don’t like Biden. I wanted someone progressive. Someone who didn’t sexually assault someone. But this is literally life and death.

(also Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 87 years old and has been hospitalized multiple times in the last year and we cannot allow Trump to appoint her replacement on the Supreme Court or continue giving lifetime appointments to judges to lower Federal courts)

If you live in a safe-Dem state like California, go ahead, vote 3rd party. I would love to see substantial 3rd party traction. Bernie was the compromise candidate, and Biden SUCKS, but there will be FAR LESS MASS DEATH under Biden compared to Trump. So if you live in a swing state like I do, let’s pinch our noses through our masks, trade the prolific mass-murderer for the more restrained one, primary him in 2024, and organize in other non-electoral ways in the meantime.

NO. Do not vote third party in any state this year.

Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania hadn’t voted for a Republican for President in decades. They were “safe” blue states too.

Until they handed Trump the election in 2016.

Plus, states have Senators, Representatives, and local offices being elected.

If you vote third party in New York or California, you’re sending a message to voters all across the country. It sends a message that Biden isn’t acceptable, that voting third party is okay right now.

It’s not.

Only 70,000 votes split across MI, WI, and PA elected Trump. You think third party voters’ bad attitudes in 2016 didn’t influence turnout or voters in those states when the election was that close?

Trump is already laying the groundwork to contest the 2020 election’s validity. He’s saying vote by mail is a fraud. He still claims that there were millions of illegal votes in 2016.

The message of this post where I’ve been saying “vote for Democrats” since 2015 is not that it’s okay to vote for third parties if you live in a blue state.

The only way we beat Trump in 2020 is by a landslide for Democrats in every single state.

I’m not saying that Democrats are good guys. Far from it. But Republicans’ years of denial of science, of profit over people, of pandering to racism and sexism, have led to their logical endpoint in Trump. It’s led to over 100,000 dead and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

Republicans are evil and need to be defeated.

Vote. For. Democrats.

Headcanon: First Social Grooming for Hakkai

Goyjo flinched at the sight of the other man as he stepped out of the bathroom, towel around his neck and steam bellowing out of the door. Not because of the scar forming on his torso; He had his own share of stories. No, what bothered him was the state of the newly-fledged demon’s hair. With it kept short it wouldn’t be too bad, but he could already see where it was starting to snarl and tangle. Bad enough in longer hair, that would become downright painful in short hair in no time.

He sighed as he stretched, placing his magazine to the side as he rolled to his feet like a cat, snatching up his hairbrush, the spine of the thing reinforced with a small flat bar of steel. Demon hair was as soft as a human’s, but much stronger. Gonou gave him a curious look as the hanyou waltzed up, brush flipping other nimble fingers, Gojyo motioning for him to sit down at the desk chair.

He stood up in a rush at the first touch to the back of his head. A Thousand-Slayer Demon, he was not born into the instincts that Gojyo was. Despite how similar Youkai and humans appear, demons are still predators, and thus have stronger instincts than their human cousins. He didn’t like anyone standing behind him, though he didn’t know why yet. Only to suddenly collapse as Gojyo wrapped his free hand around the back of his neck, gently but firmly steering him back into the chair. A rusty rumble ratcheted up, causing Gonou to relax farther; a bachelor like Gojyo doesn’t have many opportunities to purr, so his was audibly out of practice.

Words were useless at this point as he started attacking the back of his hair, tangles slowly easing out under his ministrations. An equally rough and stuttering purr started to rise, Gonou leaning down to rest his chin on the heels of his fists. Those green eyes were hooded as Gojyo continued, the new demon relaxed to the point that Gojyo released the back of his neck. “Better?” he asked after a second, smirking at the bass rumbles echoing through the cabin.

Gonou nodded slowly, almost drugged from the social grooming. “How…?"

"Yer a demon now. Yer gonna have to be more careful about certain things.”

“Well,” those green eyes slid back to stare into ruby. “Then I guess, I’ll learn from the best.”
