Different (A Short Comment)

"It’s different because that’s you and this is me. It’s not okay when it’s me." Mental health issues are not just something that happens to someone that isn't you or someone you don't know. A stranger may have it, a friend may have it, a close relative may have it, you may have it. The circumstances may be different, but it's as different as having different skin colors, different numbered toes, different personalies. Just as these don't make us any less of people, the pain isn't any less real. Nor is any suffering less deserving of attention and comfort.

Cashier: That’s for the chicken strips. We just have regular ranch for salad.

Me: Oh okay, I’ll get the regular ranch then.
