Theriotype: Coydog (Coyote/Irish Wolfhound/Siberian Husky/Wolf - similar makeup to an eastern coyote but with less wolf & more dog.)

Kintype: Shapeshifter

Relate to werewolves heavily due to these two, along with my mental health & menstrual cycle- But it's not that simple. The shapeshifter part is more of a concept of self & a general relation to fluidity and nonhumanity than a solid creature, whereas the coydog part is a specific past life I have some vague memories of.

Other important animals; Various Other Canids (Jackals, Red Foxes, Corsac Foxes, Maned Wolves), Maned Lionnesses, Striped Hyenas, Lemurs, Corvids, Owls, Domestic Cats, Hyrax, Musk Deer, Leopard Geckos, Monitor Lizards, Moths, Sea Lampreys (Also, thylacine, indohyus, plesiosaurs, and dragons.)

“Species Dysphoria” (2021)

I’ve been waiting to post this one for a little while now! This comic was made for the Inky Paws Zine, a collaborative fiction zine created by nonhumans and alterhumans!

In hindsight, I should’ve probably leaned a little bit more into making this a fictional piece to better fit the zine’s theme…nevertheless, I’m still happy with it! This was something I created to try and articulate some of my personal feelings about my species dysphoria through the lens of someone who’s also trans, and maybe feels that those two identities are really the same.

WolfDog. i want control, i want to have set rules, a schedule, not having it stresses me... but being controlled makes me angry, not having freedom, making my own scedule... also stresses me. i want control, but i hate it. i want enclosed in a kennel, but i fear it, i want to run wild, but i fear being too wild because i want to please others.

I want a owner. But i want to be on my own.

I want to be wild, but i im scared of the outside.

I want to be a service dog, i want to guide and be on a harnes, but i hate being restrained.

I want to be on a collar, but i hate how they feel.

I want to run free, unteathered by a leash... but when i acknowledge the missing leash... I'll miss it. I'll want it back.
