Not my usual post content but I was asked for my brushes, and this is a list of all the brushes I use and what I use them for! featuring some really ugly doodles on like 3 of them ^^
I use Ibis Paint X (on windows), and I pay for the premium subscription so I'm unsure how to tell if my brushes require premium to use or not :( regardless, here they are!
If anyone wants the specific settings of a certain brush to copy it into other art applications, feel free to ask :D
My usual sketch brush:
My usual lineart brush (also used for coloring, cell shading):
Soft shading:
(For shading overall I tend to use the airbrush minimally. For fully shaded/rendered pieces, I usually use it to shade, then lower the layer opacity to make it subtle. I also use this airbrush for character designs that contain gradients!)
My dot brushes:
I use these dot brushes interchangeably, but its really helpful having dot brushes of different sizes for different areas of a drawing!
My rake brushes:
Similarly to the dot brushes, I use these interchangeably too; I USUALLY use the 4 Rake brush for effects on the top of the drawing, and the 5 Rake brush for background effects only, though you can use them for whatever of course!
Pixel Element (for backgrounds ONLY)
Don't let the pixels touch side-to-side (or top-to-bottom) for the best effect! If you use this brush for lines, the individual squares/"pixels" will NOT touch. I do not advise using this brush for lines or coloring!
Pixel art
THIS is the brush to use for pixel art! I use this for lineart and coloring, and use some other brushes for additional effects as well :D
!! OTHER BRUSHES !!
Brushes I don't use in my art anymore, or have never used consistently and just still have laying around in my custom brushes list!
NOTES:
The Blocky pen is best used if you have pressure sensitivity! Most of my brushes have settings that look best with pressure sensitivity, since I practically rely on it in every stage of my drawing process. So, some of the brushes may either use pressure for opacity or brush thickness. They can all be used without it (or with speed settings instead) if you're unable to use pressure sensitivity!
ALSO! Each of my brushes have settings applied that limit their size for the canvases I use, make sure to fix or remove those size limits for your own canvas sizes!
EDIT: The recipient of this art piece is no longer allowed to use it in any public capacity (as a banner, pfp, or otherwise). They've been blacklisted, due to issues that I am not a part of.
I will not share the details of what they did unless the other person/people in their drama okay it or share it all publicly themselves.
Don't go harassing them, but be aware.
