I bring a "zionism is first and foremost a term and philosophy for jews that was co-opted by both sides of the political spectrum because they aren't allowed to say kike anymore" vibe to the function that frankly makes a lot of people uncomfortable

I sometimes see people joke about how wild it is that the Raiders of the Lost Ark canonically “confirms the existence of G-d From The Bible” and, like, sure
but I feel like we’re glossing over a few very important details there
details like, what Covenant is being referred to in “the Ark of the Covenant”? who is that covenant with? the presence of whose G-d does it represent? why might that be relevant in a movie with the specific villains Raiders has?
what fantasy do we think George Lucas’s cowriter Philip Kaufman, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and director Steven Spielberg were trying to fulfill with this specific choice?
"The G-d of Israel channeled their power through an object sacred to Am Yisrael to destroy (literally melt) Nazis"
Which could mean nothing
I'm never going to apologize for עם not having a direct translation in a colonial language 🤷♀️
@nonbinaryjudean you made such a good point here and I just want to add the fun bonus layer of them also simultaneously denying that the tribe they are claiming heritage of is in fact the real tribe. Their argument eats itself. Where pray tell do they think the genetic model to compare against.... came from?
ALSO, the Left hates Anglicized Christian Native Americans who think white settler colonialism was the best thing that ever happened to their people, because "it got us away from evil pagan worship."
They argue that Land Back Native Americans who reject Christianity and European colonial influence are the True Scotsman true, authentic Native Americans, even if both groups share the same ancestry.
But then they turn around and prop up Arabized Levantine people as the only true authentic indigenous people of the region, over the people who held onto their pre-Arabized religion and culture.
They sincerely argue that those who gave into forced Islamic Arab colonization are "more indigenous" than the group with the same ancestry who hold onto their pre-colonized religion and culture.
"Forcibly converting and colonizing is only bad when European Christians do it, but it's fine when Arabian Muslims do it."
I don't publish anon hate unless it's good enough to frame. My darling pupils, if we cannot strive for originality, at least refer to the classics. Insult my upbringing or something. Threaten my cattle. Jeez.
everything you're debunking i'm rebunking it
I'm at the Israeli rave! I'm at the bomb shelter! I'm at the combination Israeli rave and bomb shelter!
I know folks have been sharing this link on other posts, but &udm=14 works well:

Thank you very much
I’ll share this around :)
Happy Pride month!! 💜 I'll never forget how horribly the queer community has been treating queer Jews 💜
babygirl I don't know how to tell you this but there just isn't a way to do mass dehumanization in like, a "progressive leftist" kinda way.
okay now that we’ve a had couple lesbian blockbusters and milfs are having a romance moment, we need to bring back the manic pixie dream girl. she was never fuckin suited to fixing all the problems of some boring twenty year old everyman, but you know who could actually benefit from a quirky free-spirited blue haired girl with pronouns (she/they)? a newly divorced forty-something mom who’s trying to learn how to be herself for the first time in her life
Is Janeway a redhead or is her hair brown
redhead
light brown
auburn(?? explain what this means)
she's bald
This is my star trek blog where I actually tricked 72 people into answering the question "am *I* a redhead," because I'm tired of the debate being started in front of me at least once a month.
Now I can whip this poll out and confidently say: "yeah you know it's really unclear"
Linguistic drift can be charming and also funny. The word "supposed," especially to me. That's a popular term among the toddler class. "It's supposed to be good." Slow that word down for me, bud. Supposed? Like, "we suppose that...." ?? That's an advanced level word, lil friend! It is in fact suppose-ed by the general public that this recipe might yield a positive result. Supposed, indeed.
Alternatively "I'm not supposed to" is not the clearest sentence. You are not suppose-ed to do what? Your parents did not consider it probable you would misbehave? Amateurs, obviously you are going to. You are 2. That's your fulltime job.
