Prompt 9
"Why did you do it?"
"Because hate is easier. Hate hurts less."
Prompt 8
"Will you help me?"
"You literally tried to kill me yesterday."
"Yeah, well, that was yesterday."
cw: blood, torture
Hero had seen blood before, seen it a thousand times, but never so much and never from someone still alive. Villain was barely moving. If it wasn't for the slight rise and fall of their chest Hero would think them dead.
"Effective, isn't it?" Mentor said with a wry smile, gesturing to the black shackles encircling Villain's wrists. "They completely bind away their abilities."
"What are you going to do with them?" Hero moved further into the room. There were slash marks covering Villain's chest, most deep enough to require stitches.
"Whatever we must." Mentor pressed a foot down on Villain's hand hard enough that Villain whined, a sound Hero had never heard them make before despite all of their fights. A sick feeling settled in their stomach. This was wrong. Villain was by no means a good person, but even they did not deserve this.
"This- This isn't right." The black lining in the sleeves of Hero's uniform tightened. Mentor frowned.
"This is necessary."
Prompt 7
Salt crystallised on the wood of the throne like hoar frost sharp enough to draw blood and turn the white surface red.
Prompt 6
They were always so transparent when they lied. That's why their betrayal was such a surprise.
Prompt 5
"The road is long. Winding. One can never really know where it might lead you."
"Can you stop it with this cryptic bullshit? For once?"
Prompt 4
Mrs Moreau down on seventh has a cure for all manner of ills and maladies from broken bones to broken hearts. It's just a matter of negotiating the price.
Prompt 3
"Vengeance is not a worthy cause to dedicate your life to."
"It's all I have."
Prompt 2
Envy was one of the more subtle of the sins, not like boastful Pride or explosive Wrath. She was the one you never saw coming until it was too late
Prompt 1
Rust fell like snowflakes as the old boat drifted overhead joining the others caught on the wind, winding their way towards the city's boundaries.
