Let's get right to your forecast because Mother Nature is making herself known today.

It's currently 84 degrees with a 69% humid, and while it's already warm out there, you'll definitely want to keep an umbrella close by. Expect periods of steady rain throughout much of the day, with scattered thunderstorms developing into the afternoon and evening. Some of those storms could produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds, so if you hear thunder, it's a good reminder to head indoors until the storm passes.

Roads may become slick during the morning commute so give yourself a little extra time and remember - those turn signals aren't just decorative!

Now for what's happening around town...?

Things are getting exciting over at The Harbourlight, where auditions are wall underway for their upcoming production of Rent. If you've walked by lately and heard snippets of music drifting out the doors, no... you're not imagining it. The cast is getting prepared, and excitement is building as opening night draws closer.

Later in today's program, we'll be sitting down with one the common stars at Harbourlight, Bleu Hargrove, a former Broadway actor who's bringing his years of experience to the Harbourlight Stage. We'll talk about the move back to Cypress Cove, returning to his home theatre, and why this production of Rent is so meaningful. You'll definitely want to stick around for that conversation.

Let's start with a look outside.

It's shaping up to be another classic Georgia summer day. Expect a high of 87 with plenty of sunshine overhead, though you'll notice a few fair-weather clouds drifting by throughout the afternoon. Humidity is making itself known early this morning, so it'll feel a little warmer than the thermometer says. If you're working outside, heading to the beach, or mowing the lawn, don't forget plenty of water and maybe take a break in the shade every now and then.

Sunrise gave us a gorgeous start this morning, and sunset will be right around 8:39 this evening, giving plenty of daylight to enjoy.

The Cypress Cove Farmers Market opens Wednesday morning on the beach so if you've been waiting on fresh peaches, tomatoes, homemade jams, and Miss Eloise's fresh cinnamon rolls... yes, she'll be there, and yes, they'll probably sell out before ten.

The Cypress Cove Animal Shelter is also holding an adoption event this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. They're currently overflowing with dogs and cats looking for forever homes, so if you've been thinking about adding four-legged friend to your family, this might be your sign.
