Yesterday, while sorting through boxes at my parent's old house, I found a necklace I had forgotten about. The chain was simple, but it held a pewter bird-like claw which had a translucent red marble in it's grasp. The entire thing was the size of a golf ball.

At one time while quite young I liked knights and castles. I was immediately attracted to this necklace when my mom took me to find new figurines at the local hobby shop. I may have been 8 or 9 years old. I remember wearing it and wondering if it would come to life and reach in my chest to take my heart. Honestly, I yearned for it to happen even at that age.

What sort of interest/fetish is this that it can affect a prepubescent person so young and stick with them for life?

Honestly, I felt a stillness in my chest, thought 'i am dying', and passed out. It all happened in less than 10 seconds, so too rapid to reflect on what was happening. My vision started to fade within a couple seconds and I heard an increasingly loud roaring as I slipped into unconsciousness.
