"Ash Dome" 1977
‘I take my cue from what the material suggests to me. And this exhibition will reveal 40 years of my research. I am a researcher into the science and anthropology of trees and the wood they produce. For every culture and civilisation, wood is a fundamental survival material for building, defending, cooking and so much more. I’m also a maker of objects that are motivated by an idea, an attitude of a healthy relationship with our outer skin, the environment."
Natural Architecture Movement
the 'natural architecture' movement aims to expand on 'land art' by acting as a form of activism rather than protest. this new form of art aims to capture the harmonious connection we seek with nature by merging humanity and nature through architecture. the core concept of the movement is that mankind can live harmoniously with nature, using it for our needs while respecting its importance.
"All I want is to be known as a man who was deeply connected to the environment."
Wooden Boulder 1978- Giant oak ball weighing half a ton
"The wooden boulder was last seen in June 2003 on a sandbank near Ynys Giftan. All creeks and marshes have been searched so it can, only be assumed it has made its way to the sea. It is not lost. It is wherever it is.”

Thoughts about wood...
"I thought I was working with wood, then i realized it was tree, that tree is elements. So there is light, moisture, element- I'm searching for the elements. That's what I'm doing."
