I love how many people can’t grasp that the “folk” culture they think they’re embracing (ppl that want to be trad amongst other things) is actually just popular culture being sold to them as traditional. If you were really embracing folk/traditional culture you would simply dress for the climate you’re in and embrace the food your neighbors and family all make at potlucks probably. There aren’t really distinctive regional traits in the US anymore (or a lot less) so unless you’re embracing your neighbors and family nearby or like embracing a church You’re a tourist of the internet kinda
