I got the opportunity to speak to Jason Pettigrove, Senior Sub Editor of Marca English, the biggest sport newspaper in Spain. As newspapers are often criticised for struggling to give accurate reports, and Twitter is increasingly becoming the gospel for breaking news, Jason and I had an interesting chat with regards to the current state of journalism. We focused on the particular cases of Cristiano Ronaldo vs Real Madrid and Neymar vs FC Barcelona / PSG, and how these have propelled AND even changed the absurd manner in which journalists are reporting news and how it's digested. Who's to blame? Fake news newspapers? Glory hunting journalists? Players & clubs for not following traditional protocol? WATCH & COMMENT on this great debate which will certainly need a part 2 SOON! Barça beat Juve 2-1 in a match which saw Neymar on FIRE and score two absolute beautiful goals! Neymar, Messi and others like likes of Samper, Aleña and company showed no signs that any of the rumours linking him with PSG had any affect on the team. FC Barcelona played ambitious football and pressed high up the pitch which was a pleasant sign as Valverde showed us he will rely on the 4-3-3 tactic for our team this season. Will Neymar decide to stay? How can he leave Messi after showing us how well they play together. Pique certainly had a good word with Neymar AND PERHAPS is the CONVINCING FACTOR to make him stay with Barça and not go to PSG. Time will tell...
