i wish there was more talk on tumblr about hypersexuality as a response to trauma, tbh. i see a lot of talk about asexuality and sex-repulsion due to trauma, but i rarely see people talk about the opposite. idk, its a difficult subject i suppose

About me:

My art is distinctly elegiacal/autobiographical in nature. As a self taught “hobbyist”, my artistic process is a selfish one, driven by concepts and ideas that I feel compelled to articulate in my own way. As a result of my technical limitations, I have come to strongly identify with ‘outsider’ or naïve art, and have sought to establish myself more in the URL world than IRL.

I am very interested in the juxtaposition of the beautiful and the grotesque, the human body, gender, sexuality, scientific illustrations, religious iconography and the occult, symbolism, growth and growths; these are recurring motifs in my work. The feminine figures I paint are at once vulnerable and powerful, bursting forth, the sole focus in most instances - they bear witness to my experiences, fixations and preoccupations. I think of them all as magical girls. People ask if I’ve drawn myself again, no matter the subject. It’s an uncomfortably perceptive question.
