I'm tired of people acting like Avery is super stupid as if KIY didn't literally purposefully drop that guy in the middle of a bunch of stressful puzzles knowing it would slowly eat at him because he has the smarts of a perfectly average person and not whatever the fuck was going on with Derek
WORLDS TRUEST
SO TRUE!!
Avery's just an average guy. I don't think I'm dumb. But, if you stick me next to a rocket scientist and start asking both of us math questions, then yeah---I'd definitely look stupid. That's basically what happens with Derek and Avery.
Most people would not be able to solve those puzzles. Some of these puzzles require such niche information, that even someone who has played the game for years wouldn't know it.
Didn't Wifies also say that the puzzles are literally designed to bring Avery down? He was never meant to be able to solve them. Hell, when he gets close---"bro is speaking enchanting table"---the King draws his attention away from the puzzle!
NO LITERALLY.......the one that always gets me is the shulker box puzzle because like.
1. who is figuring that out. nobody is just thinking of that.
2. it was Quite Literally Impossible for avery to figure out because the zombie thing didn't work
3. is breaking through the netherite not Exactly what derek did breaking through the door. but even cooler because he did it with netherite. why do we always talk about dereks Unfortunately for you... I have a pickaxe..... but never averys "screw this puzzle. stupid puzzle..."
The one that marked me the most was the world with the dissapearing mountains.
Derek's footage could have been set with the kokiri forest as a background music while he was having fun puzzling the puzzle.
But Avery's footage of the things is stressful scary and WHY ARE THE MOUNTAINS DISSAPEARING!!
The king was evil evil evil for this.
Pushes my glasses up my nose like the nerd emoji🤓
The music in the series is non-diegetic, meaning the characters don’t actually hear it in-universe. It’s meant to be reflections of their points of view and/or mental states during the story. So Avery’s was frequently adventure/horror because he was genuinely scared, Derlord’s was more puzzle-ish and determined because he was curious and calculative.
The only songs that the two share in common were the last ones— My Guitar Gently Weeps, and On The Outside. Both with lyrics expressing the theme of grief over losing a loved one.
