Avery, and all other slimes, are allergic to water. Too much touching and they'll get irritated in their slime. Too much water in general and it can affect them like an allergic reaction.

Why is this a headcanon of mine? Because back in the day, when slimes were still new, they were incapable of swimming and would just drown. For the longest time, up until VERY recently, I thought this was still a thing for them in the game. But apparently they can swim now, and have been able to for a while, so technically this is no longer a "canon thing" I can put on Avery. Instead it's a full headcanon of mine lol

Oh I can start posting the headcanons here instead, okay. I'm not gonna do a whole "the game npcs are alive" kinda thing with SaS, but they are "aware" that Derek is different than the typical player. Like, Derek messes up games simply by just being in them, even if he doesn't notice it. (like uh the turtle in chapter 3 of the 5+1) Derek doesn't remember what he looks or sounds like. Why? I don't know. I'm not the ghost. He does try to recreate what he looks like in games w/ customization, though. Avery doesn't know about this. Yesterday someone asked if they could give Derek the Percy Jackson book series (he has it now. its canon because i said so), but it also made me realize that Derek probably reads a lot. He gets bored as hell while in the computer. I think it'd be cool if he could somehow go to a website (e.g. open library), and then actually have the book, like "physically" or whatever. He keeps his books, and other belongings, in his field btw.

I’ve discovered that spawning in a cherry blossom biome in Minecraft will leave you with so many pink flower based ground litter bits that you’ll be struggling to figure out what to do with them. My current plan is to breed a very large army of white sheep and individually dye them all pink but that’s only a band aid solution really.

I think for some people terms like “gay” having a strict definition is really important to them and for some people terms like “gay” having a loose definition is really important to them. and neither is incorrect. they are both right.

I've known a number of non binary people in my life and I think single biggest conclusion I can draw from that is that non binary people are not the same. Like if Men fit in box A and women fit in box B, people really, really want nonbinary people to fit in a theoretical box C, and it just doesn't work like that. They are outside the boxes. They defy any simple categorization because they are not a third way of being, but every other possible way of being.

Being supportive of binary people is relatively simple, they have decided to sort themselves into one of the boxes that we have lots of experience interacting with. Being supportive of nonbinary people can be comparatively tricky, because you have to resist the urge to create box C and drop them all there. That's how we end up with various prejudices like "woman lite". Humans really, really like to categorize things. It helps us think. Unfortunately, sometimes it helps us think wrong.

If you have a non binary person in your life, I think it is important to take the extra effort to learn about them specifically.

this becomes a lot easier when you realize that the Man Box and the Women Box are fake. like. I really believe that we, as a society, will never be able to truly accept non-binary people until we abolish the idea that All Men Are Like This and All Women Are Like That. a person's pronouns don't tell you anything except what pronouns to use for them.
