I'm really bored this summer so I'm starting a 30 day challenge where I walk about my 30 favourite manga. Maybe by the end of this I will be able to write better reviews.
Day 1: I'm starting this strong and talking about my favourite manga The world is mine by Hideki Arai. The story is 2 terrorists and a godlike creature spreading chaos all over Japan. Our two protagonists Toshi and Mon are polar opposites with Toshi being a normal human thats scared of conflict and Mon being a madman that wants to become king of the world by any means necessary. While the story progresses both of them transform into something different Toshi into a madman like Mon was and Mon into more of calm like figure, some even called him the Messiah. Our godlike creature Higumadon is such a complex character I can't even begin to describe it. The art is somewhat "ugly" which I like Hideki Arai really knows how to portray the real world.
Also Mon always seems childlike his action are simple like "I will become King" and his way of doing things is also really straightforward never really anything complex, its like he never thinks and just acts. Maybe Mon represents the impulses of humanity and Toshi rational thinking. I really love both of their characters especially Toshi he really is amazing. I'll never forget the first time I read it, it was the best feeling I ever had it left me speechless for hours.
Its my first time trying to explain a story and what I truly liked about it so its probably really bad but still I had to do it. Here's some more panels I liked.
