 “Oi oi....don’t mess things up. Your not getting paid to mess things up.” Managing one of the stalls, Krantz made for a effectice...scare tactic. Too tall to be santa. too anything to be but the manager of a group of stalls within a certain street.  Christmas goods were being sold by the buckets the closer the dreaded day approaches. One of the part timers held his attention because he wasn’t a local.

                 Without really even thinking about it, he pocked his phone and hopped over the legs of some of the unconscious fellows starting to fallow along with the stranger. Deciding without asking that this was definitely going to be a new friend in this strange world he was introduced to. “    Man, that sounds like a miserable way to live. Getting your joy outta trying to make someone else frown, yeah I can’t relate. Prefer to see other people happy myself.    ”

That was a good point to make now that he thought about it, “    Huh, yeah this place seemed pretty self sustained doesn’t it? I’ve only been here about a month and a half so I’m still getting use to the way its run myself… Weird… Last place I went to without any leadership went to complete hell, but this place is handling itself real well.    ”

 “There is leadership. Its the scientists, though they desire social interaction between subjects, they provide a society of norms in the background.” being a test subject himself in his original world, Krantz can understand the thoughts of a scientist to a extent without putting emotions into it. 

 “We should count lucky, that this is not a survival experiment of the fittest.”

Now that interest him. He perks up a little and actually does smile this time. “Safe houses, hm? Can you explain to me why we’d need that?”

Interesting place, this is turning out to be. He’s intrigued already.

 “Its....complicated. What happens in this city is entirely random at times.” though  knowing that it was scientists who did it, made it easier to understand. Having worked with them for decades and being a test subject, though a highly ranked one himself, made it easier for him to adapt. 

 “At the very least, finding a safe place is ideal in this city.” he doens’t continue after that, a bit lost in thought. 

 “...Its too easy to go soft in this city, regardless.”

                “    I do my best to be, man. Back where I’m from these guys would have already been dead where they lay so I’m pretty happy they’re still alive. Count my blessings and all that.    ” He dialed the emergency line for this place he was temporarily calling home. The report he gave was of finding some guys after a fight having knocked each other out – no mention of the man still standing among them, bloodied fists but alright.

Flipping the phone closed he gave the other a nod, “   There we go. Guess we better get outta here before they get picked up. Or mostly you, I’m pretty clean so I don’t think they would suspect me of any foul play.    ”

You never knew though.

 “Make someone your enemy and you will find out the depth of how much they make a person life miserable.” though he being the punishment is sort of why he knows how bad people can get. Krantz, being someone who wants more power through modifications is well aware of how he sounds. He’s walking away though. 

 “Its amazing no politicians are active here.” he says to pass the time but also...

               “    Whoa, you must have some really good neosporin to already be good over there!    ” He sighs looking down at the mess of men at his feet knowing he should not get involved, but hey – wasn’t getting involved in things he shouldn’t a part of his personality by this point ? “    Not gonna report you dude, I dunno the context of this whole thing I don’t got any right to, but I think I wanna call someone to come fix these guys up. Are you alright with that?    ”

He retains his cool afterwards, after all compassion is a one off thing that barely shows after the results are shown. He is but a cog in a big machine, though he hopes he becomes a important cog. 

 “Lets go with that.” he says instead, perhaps suppressing a smug smile to go with his smug attitude. 

 “Well, report it. their fates don’t matter to me.”

 “Are you always this compassionate to strangers?”

                “     Well that’s certainly somethin’ to say to someone whose just checking if you’re okay, dude… No, I’m a lover, definitely not a fighter.     ” He kneels down, checking on one of the scattered men’s necks that a pulse still rung out in their through their veins. Thankfully, they were still living. Coming from a place like Sintracorp meant that Inay was use to the death of people around him but it was preferable to avoid.

He stands, looking at the man standing at the other end of the mess once again, “    So, did you need any help with your knuckles or were you just gonna threaten me again? They look like it might hurt, dude.    ”

He is taken aback because asking about the health of someone who just beated up a group of people isn’t usual. Its downright unusual entirely. in other words something that he doesn’t have any experience in unless he was young and stupid.

 “...They’re fine. Its healed already.” its nothing a enhanced human like himself would have any problem with.

Jade watches his newfound acquaintance with an interested expression. He almost smiles, but doesn’t quite; instead, he folds his hands in front of himself and hums very softly as he looks straight ahead.

“Do you have plans for the city, then?”

 He shook his head. Like it or not, Krantz is someone who follows for the most part. there wasn’t anyone who was worth following though since when they acted, it was on half hearted ideals than anything else. 

 “If I did, whatever...event the city has planed, intentional or not would ruin it.” 

 “Having safe houses would be a start,” talking casually to strangers is not his forte.

                “    Whoa whoa … What the hell happened here.    ” This definitely felt like the wrong time to be exploring given he just walked what was once a scene of chaos. Though there is only one person standing, Inay was not ready to assume he was the cause or instigator, “    Uhh – You alright over there dude? This looks like it was a pretty nasty fight …   ”

 “A nuisance.” He states , dusting off himself, though the blood leaking off his knuckles does make him look rathe scary. Beating them half to death would do that, it was a long day of bothersome antics that led to their eventual deaths if nothing is done about it. 

 “Are you joining them.”

▄▀  — “It is a pup, or are you too blind to see that?” The man takes a simple step, and this alone is enough to ruffle Nabor’s feathers, eyes piercing wide and sharp teeth bared. The pup is held closer, and it barks a soft little sound, pressing its nose against his chest. “It is harmless. Take another step and I will not give you the privilege of life.”

Yet as much as he stands his ground, there were some small hesitancy that he couldn’t brush off. “I… don’t have my phone.” If the stranger had any desire to redeem himself, calling for help would be more than enough.

 “Hmph.” he’s not going to help the other rescue a puppy. After all its not in his nature to help people. in truth he is a villian true and true, though he won’t call himself that. 

 “You don’t have it with you. Thats pathetic.” 

Its not like he has to prove himself. 

 “Go find a map, go ask someone. You’r on your own.” and he’s walking away now.

 “This is nothing but a nuisance.” over a dozen people were on the floor, most likely in pain. It seems that having a scary appearance and walking to the worse streets was a sign he wanted a fight. it proved to be a bad day...for them.

 “The city is still a right mess, no matter how you look at it.” with its constant destruction, it seems that Krantz is used to the idea that a city goes through the life and death cycle faster than a caterpillar. “Perhaps we should make more safe zones...no, useless if they end up destroyed during the transition.” he’s more of talking to himself than to the other. 

He takes another drag of his cigar.
