He does not want to look upset because he is not, he clearly isn’t, he’s not irritated or upset or even a little bit on edge –
… but there’s this really cute toy in the claw machine and no matter how hard he tries, he can’t seem to get it.
He doesn’t even know if he wants it for himself. Maybe for Prompto, the shape reminds him of a chocobo. Or maybe Ignis as a thank you. Or Gladio as an apology. It doesn’t matter, all that matters is this:
Noctis wants that damn plushie.
His hands ball into fists and he wants to shake the machine. He’s wasting so much money here but it’s not as if he has anything else to do, he’s basically alone on this island. Sure, the phone in theory would connect him to anyone he wants, but no one he wants to talk to is here.
“Come on, give a guy a break.”

He had begun watching from a small distance as the player attempted to win themselves a cute toy from one of those damned machines. Yeah, they were rigged like that to drop easily before actually giving the person the chance to even get it close to the drop. Inay’s examination of their attempts had led him to believe he had any idea of how to trick the machine into giving over the plush. He glances toward the employees of the establishment and they seemed plenty distracted.
Inay approaches the guy, standing beside him and pointing at the machine, “ Ya want that? We gotta be quick but I can help you get it. ” Nodding toward the side of the machine Inay winks at him keeping his voice low and conspiratorial, “ Push the side of that when I tell you to and I swear you’ll get your plush. ”

Man not only was this embarrassing but it hurt real bad too -- he meant to make himself a delicious meal for dinner but a stray stretch of the arm sent it splattering all up his other arm instead leaving burns he had HOPED he could take care of but... Pride needed to be set aside and quickly the pain outweighed any desire to avoid a trip to the hospital.
“ Uh... Real sorry about this. ” He spoke to his surprisingly young looking doctor, “ Bet you’ve got bigger things to worry about than a guy whose wearing his dinner. ” @gempathic
Ah, time two he nearly ran into someone because his attention was on his phone. Man, these things were dangerous for the attention span, he couldn’t help but get sucked into figuring out more and more what they could do. He steps out of the girls way, putting an embarrassed hand up to make sure he had not deterred her chair’s path too much, “ My bad young miss! That was all my bad, you alright? ” @caelatori
“ Hey, that’s a nice hat. ” Not usually a clothing conscious person, unless that clothing served a utility of some kind, but he had yet to see a hat like that with such a magnificent brim, “ Looks like the sun would have no business getting in your face with one of those. ” @lachasse
“ Whoa, kid that belt you’ve got there looks real neat! ” If it had been any other belt that commentary might have seemed strange to point out specifically as a fashion choice. This belt however, really looked like it could contain a lot in its many compartments that were hooked onto it catching the eye of someone with an engineer’s mind, “ Where’d you get that. I think I need one while I work! ” @notbatboy

Ardyn’s brows raise in surprise. “Must I?” he asks. Ah, Simon and his laws intrigue him so, he’s excited to see what other tyrannical rules can be applied to this game. “Is it not enough simply for me to say ‘Ardyn says’, or is it not specific to each person?”
What a strange cultural phenomenon. He’ll need to press Inay on it later, especially since he’d been so forthcoming about his own world and the daemons that inhabit it, but for now he holds the candies out insistently. “All right, Simon says be a dear and eat one.”
“ That’s the rules man, its a cosmic punishment if you try to replace Simon in Simon Says! You gotta keep him pleased. ” A complete joke but spoken with a little too much conviction that if someone did not catch on it would seem as if Simon really was a being who watched over the game like a vengeful god. Until his expression returned to normal far too quickly.
“ Alright man, ” He took one of the candies from his hand and plops it into his mouth at a, “ Bottoms up. ” Before chewing a swallowing the new treat. He didn’t believe at all that these things came with special properties of any kind, that sort of thought was just silly. It was probably just a placebo effect!

His smile is far from innocent, but it looks that way to the untrained eye. Maybe Gentaro or Dice would be able to see through it, but he’s good enough at hiding his true emotions to not let things show. He watches the other man with interest, and giggles a little under his breath.
“Size of bricks? That’s way too big, how can you make something so old and clunky look cute, huh ~ ?” he leans in and gives the phone to the man. “If you wanna, and you can fix it… I’ll give you one of my candies!”
“ Yeah, could never get into those chunky phones myself. Can’t even give them a nice background like you can on these things. ” His eyes run across it, thinking of the type of glass he would never to buy and cut to size in order to repair the surface of it since the parts beyond looked like they were functioning just fine. He nods, giving him a smile at the mention of candy, “ Don’t mind if I do, man. I usually just do this work for free but payment in candy sounds pretty SWEET today. ”
Heh, that was funny he swears.

Angeal holds in his hands two options. He’s never been good with colors, or with designs – that’s always been a weak spot for him. He doesn’t rally care normally; Shinra gave him this SOLDIER uniform and that’s what he feels most comfortable in. It’s like a second skin, something that he wears as both an emotional sort of armor and a physical one.
That’s besides the point. Angeal holds two bouquets of flowers, one with deep red roses and the other filled with more pastel colors. He’s not sure which option is better; he likes both, but he’s never spoken the language of flowers.
… and is it even appropriate to be buying them, now?
He sighs and looks between the two of them before noticing another man in the shop. He seems more at ease, and Angeal has never been one to not ask for help when he needs it.
“Hello? Sorry, if you’re busy. I just have a quick question.”
He was never much of a flower guy himself, but today he was feeling like shaking up his tradition. His apartment back home was filled with color because of the Gundam figures he decorated his walls with but he couldn’t seem to find anywhere that sold something similar. As he wandered, seeking out something that could go as a replacement to these decorations a flower shop had come into view.
Those were colorful and their temporary nature meant colors could be swapped until he figured out something else to make his room more homey. Sure, why not! As a stranger spoke up to him in the middle of his own admiration of the blooms he turned and shook his head, “ Nah man, I’m good to go -- though, I’m not an employee in case you were mistaking me for one. Just another dude looking at flowers. ”

“You’ve never been to the beach?” he asks. How peculiar, but he supposes that’s how it is for some people. Kalim comes from the desert and he does not think many of Savanaclaw comes from an oceanside town – still, the ocean is Jade’s home, as much as he’s become accustomed to the land. And mushrooms – those are always a joy to work with.
“That’s a shame,” Jade says, and he means it. “Going to the beach is relaxing. You see, when you are submerged no one can hear you scream.”
Uh... He didn’t just say that right ? He goes over the words bit by bit -- the beach is relaxing, yes that’s normal, and when you’re submerged no one can hear you scream -- no, yeah that was pretty spooky to say. Thinking back, there was ALWAYS that kid who liked to say things to get a reaction from other people. He guessed that never changed in the new generations.
“ I’ll have to watch out from anyone pullin’ me under then. Don’t need to go unheard under the ocean waves, yeah? ” He hoped this was just some creative way of expressing themselves anyway.

Indeed, nothing is broken, but the kid in question is breathing rather hard and is as rigid as sheet metal. It also takes him a while to register that somebody is nearby, or that they’re speaking to him.
When he does process the words, Klug very abruptly shoots into a sitting position with a yelp, glasses falling crooked on his face. “I–I’m fine,” he snaps, in a voice that cracks a little too much to give his statement any credibility. To try and cover it up, Klug stumbles to his feet and reaches into the backseat of the still-parked car, gathering the rumpled-up pamphlets and his book and holding them close to his chest before stepping back and kicking the door closed. The car immediately starts up again and moves on without any further incident, pulling a U-turn at its earliest opportunity.
Klug watches the thing driving back the way it had come, back towards that dreadful hole. “…Those are awful.”
Whoops, he thinks he offended the kiddo from hurrying over to check on him in his moment of vulnerability. A little too late he looks up as if he doesn’t notice them trying to fix their disjointed appearance from the tumble out of the car, but is likewise surprised by his commentary, “ A car? Awful? You got something against fast motion? Those things are pretty amazing I think I mean -- think of how long it would take us if we just walked everywhere. We never would’a made it to-- ”
He realizes that his technological rambles weren’t exactly slated to help while someone was ruffled from the very drive so he clears his throat as he cuts himself off, “ Uh... Anyway, welcome to the area. Ya need a cup of something hot to calm your nerves? There’s some cafe’s nearby I could take you to. ”

“Make someone your enemy and you will find out the depth of how much they make a person life miserable.” though he being the punishment is sort of why he knows how bad people can get. Krantz, being someone who wants more power through modifications is well aware of how he sounds. He’s walking away though.

Without really even thinking about it, he pocked his phone and hopped over the legs of some of the unconscious fellows starting to fallow along with the stranger. Deciding without asking that this was definitely going to be a new friend in this strange world he was introduced to. “ Man, that sounds like a miserable way to live. Getting your joy outta trying to make someone else frown, yeah I can’t relate. Prefer to see other people happy myself. ”
That was a good point to make now that he thought about it, “ Huh, yeah this place seemed pretty self sustained doesn’t it? I’ve only been here about a month and a half so I’m still getting use to the way its run myself... Weird... Last place I went to without any leadership went to complete hell, but this place is handling itself real well. ”

“Oh absolutely not, Let’s see!” There’s so many that she enjoyed eating, so it’d take her just a moment to find the best one, “The strawberry mango cake is very good. It’s really good with coffee or tea!”
“ Oh boy, honestly a strawberry mango cake with a nice cuppa tea sounds heavenly! ” Listening to the tastes of others usually lead down new discoveries, whether good or bad, it was a mini adventure in taste for sure. The combination sounded refreshing, like something to eat while looking out at the ocean.
