Welcome back, to me. This is my first post here since 2018 or maybe 19. Those days, I was reposting direct from Instagram. Everything is different now. Instagram is going to shit a little bit. I still post there, with three different profiles, but the magic is fading.
The magic was there, like it was here, and maybe will be here again. I don't know. No one knows. I'm looking to connect with folks who enjoy good images and maybe want to follow along on my life's journey. Destination unknown.
Tumblr will likely be a somewhat scattered affair for me. Could be anything. My photos, my short films and clips (if I can get it to find them on my computer), some music that I'm into. Shit like that. Why don't I do it on Instagram? Good question.
The interface here just seems to welcome the expansiveness of posts like that. Kind of old-fashioned blogging as it were. I've been on Tumblr since the early days, but, like most, I abandoned it a half-dozen years ago. It was pretty awesome back in the late aughts and early 10s.
When I came back to look at things (like revisiting an old neighborhood you used to live in), I looked at blog I was following and noted their last post date. They varied, going from 2013 to now. Most gave up, but some still persevere. I'm looking forward to catching up with them and maybe you all are looking forward to catching up with me.
My life is not exciting. Externally that is. There will be no tales of derring-do and great adventure. But I am a human and I have an inner life. I make photographs, I make short video clips, and I make art, and I write and listen to music. All of that is fair game here.
