Tails update!

I learned how to do what I needed to do. Is that vague? xD. Basically, what I didn’t know I needed to do until @soft-simmer told me so was apply a nude top mesh to the tails. So she was amazing and gave me a detailed, step-by-step process complete with visuals on the spot. I did this to one tail, and now I get to do it to three more, woo…

Now about that damn specular… I’ve given up on it. @saurussims helped me figure out things I didn’t even know I should have known… which is that speculars and normals should be DDS and you have to also edit their alpha layers. How freaking fun… Seriously, how do all the amazing creators out there do this? Once I fixed the alpha on the specular I suddenly noticed bad seams on the normal, which didn’t show up until I fixed the specular. Not sure how that happened, so I gave up there, too. The tops will still be shiny like the tails, but they’re not really going to look like 3D scales. 😔It’s not entirely noticeable, though, and most importantly, they won’t have that nasty seam. If I can better edit these two things later on down the road once I have more knowledge and experience under my belt I will update these.

So last night I was scrolling through Tumblr and looking for merfolk CC because I had yet to download any (and I really needed those pitch black eyes) and I came across an override for the EA tails that makes them compatible with tattoos. The mod changes the sorting layer, so I made a note to make sure I use the same number in my tails in order for you to use them with what would be a full body tattoo on your merfolk’s human form.

TLDR; I’ll be working on these starting tomorrow and into the weekend.
