Yes, seeing rape imagery or scenes does trigger me and for a long time after even just hearing or reading the word was hard! Writing about my experience was a huge stepping stone in my recovery and it has only been very recently that I've been able to speak the word to say what happened to me and even now I still tend to refer to it as "the bad thing" and there are things surrounding it that I still need to deal with...but I now know that I am strong enough to deal with it and part of me will never ever move on from it or "get over it" but I owe it to myself to not let the monster take anything away from me and to fully reclaim the sexual side of myself!

New Year adventures with Daddy
