First look at Emilia Clarke in secret invasion (2022)
Emilia Clarke attends the 71st Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 22, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
All her life Viserys had told her she was a princess, but not until she rode her silver had Daenerys Targaryen ever felt like one.

I first developed an interest in acting when I was probably about three. My mum put my sister and I into performing arts. So dance, singing, acting. I loved it and it kind of lead to a career somehow.

This is infuriating. I’m so so so sorry, Emilia.

ways to support the blm movement
this google doc includes a list of petitions to sign, resources to help educate yourself and others, organizations to donate to, and contacts of law officials to get in touch with to express your support for the george floyd and black lives matter movements. this includes ways to help even if you don’t live in america. please read it and support the movement.
use your voice. use every platform you have, no matter how big or how small. nothing will change if you just sit there and watch. if you think you’re the exception, you’re not. remaining indifferent will only support the oppressor. do something.
write to your legal representatives. express your support for legislation that would bring justice to the unarmed civilians who’ve been murdered by law enforcement officers. demand for justice.
call 612-324-4499 ㅡ this is a hotline that will coach you on how to get connected with the people who can arrest the officers that murdered george floyd.
create serious conversation. stop demeaning people who disagree with your philosophies on how to overcome. it is useless and no better than the practices of the oppressor to silence. we need to listen to each other with respect and really consider how we can combine our perspectives to create practical change.
please feel free to add any links or resources or information that you think will be helpful and also reblog to spread awareness. the systems we are fighting against were literally created to oppress marginalized communities and therefore will not go down without a fight. we need to collectively stand up and do something about it.
hey, folks. i’d also like to add:
another google doc with good resources, information, places to donate to, and numbers to call. (like the one listed above, it is also helpful for international people)
the Minnesota Freedom Fund has received so many donations already that they are currently asking for people to donate to other organizations. if you can donate, that’s great. if not, that’s okay too. i recommend following them on twitter since they are also a great source of information.
if you are unable to participate in the protests, check out this twitter thread that talks about how you can still help out, even if you can’t be out in the streets.
this google doc is also a great resource for confronting your own racism and educating yourself. it has a lot of books, articles, podcasts, and things to watch to help better yourself and be a better ally. here is the source tweet, if you’re interested.
I still cannot get over how badly GoT portrayed the biggest men in Danys life as good-doers who can do no wrong.
Tyrion is more twisted in the books and is willing do to do what he must to get the job done, but in the show is shown as the one who doesn’t want bloodshed.
Jorah is more creepy and vile in the books and is inappropriate towards Dany, while in the show hes just Mr. Nice Guy who got “friend zoned”.
Jon has more of a backbone and is more ruthless in the books, but in the show he cannot even say more than two lines to the woman he supposedly loves and just stands around doing nothing.
But they take the one woman who is empathic and kind towards her people, but does have a morally grey side and turn her fully evil in half an episode because she kills slavers who are oppressive and violent AFTER she saved the North from the WW and Cersei.
i know i’ve liked and likely reblogged this before but the whole thing still grosses me out
i still can’t believe people say with their whole chest that d&d are not misogynistic
even if you think the story is perfectly fine (lol okay sure jan)...do you realize that pretty much all the book changes were making the men look ‘good’ and the women look ‘bad’
the only women that i’d say aren’t more dark in the book counterpart is cersei (potentially) and that’s only because d&d have a hard-on for the lannisters and seen them as the ‘good guys’ (tywin is their favorite character and that’s all well and fine but they see him as a ‘hero’)
they purged dany, arya & sansa (etc.) of emotion while tyrion, jorah & jon are now the most emotional ‘heroic’ character in the series
you can’t with a straight face tell me this isn’t sexist
woobifying the boys and vilifying the girls
the funny thing is while the darkness in some off these male characters flesh them out, d&d even wanting to make the females ‘darker’ falls flat because it makes them less interesting, not more (instead of the arkness adding complecity it makes them feel more robotic)
(and to be clear this isn’t hate towards said male characters, i do adore these characters in the books [not jorah] but a lot of their charm is because they aren’t lawful good and complex)

♕ Unafraid, Dany stepped forward into the firestorm…
michelle clapton really had no idea what she was doing, just reading her comments is mind boggling, like concerning dany's white outfits in meereen she says that dany wore white to appear godly and above everyone else when in the books dany literally wears meereenese dresses so she can assimilate herself and connect to the people

i know most of the game of thrones characters on cameo are more minor but if i had a lot of money i’d pay each and every one of them to say ‘daenerys was right/i stand by daenerys’
