So, Canada passed Bill C-9, which makes it illegal to quote Bible passages the government has deemed to be hateful.
While proponents of the law claim that the quoting of scripture remains protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, this is a lie.
In Canada, "wilful promotion of hatred," which is what the bill claims to combat, has a high legal threshold, defined by the Supreme Court in R. v. Keegstra.
Simply expressing a religious belief or even reading a passage that some find offensive does, should not meet this threshold, yet the issue comes from the fact this relies on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and not established law.
The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, was something artificially placed atop our constitution, by the senior Trudeau, Pierre, it simply states, you have all the rights and freedoms ensured to you by the Construction of Canada, unless the government says so.
Which means, because this relies on that charter, it is up to government discretion whether you violated their new bill, not legal precedent.
Also, about 2% of the 2 million legal firearm owners in Canada willfully returned their arms when asked by the government with their buyback.
In response, the Government has given an ultimatum to the Canadian people, return the guns by October this year, or they will go door to door and take them by force, making the RCMP, and retired police take them.
Because the active police departments in Canada are refusing to rob the people of their firearms.
