Devils and Demons

Dire kicked at the soft dirt beneath his steel toed boots. “Fucking shit ass job.” He grumbled to himself, he swung his bat in his arms. “Where’s the danger in a dumb mail guy?”

Dire leaned his back on a tree, hoping to feel any energy around him. He spit on the ground angrily. He was better then this, he knew that, the Guard knew that. Retrieval jobs were the absolute. fucking. worst.

Ether walked towards the area they were to meet Astor. Feeling excited after not seeing their sibling in a few months as they’ve been busy with some new job. They took a long breath in before readjusting their human clothes, hoping Astor would appreciate that Ether dressed up for her.

Direling was about to give up hope, when he suddenly caught on to a strong demonic smell, Like raw flesh. Direling could pinpoint that smell anywhere.  He smirked.

He watched them walk into a clearing near him. “Well, what do we have here?” Dire called.

Bad Pastel Witches: Bell-Lune

Name: Bell-Lune Angel Briggs (Nickname: Spidey, Bell)

Gender: NB (she/hers)  

Sexuality: Gay as shit

Age: 19

Species:  6th generation witch  

Looks: Short Lilac hair with triangular cut bangs, golden eyes. Long slender limbs, has a full arm sleeve of constellations and stars. Wears a third eye gem on her forehead. Eyes can turn black. She can open 6 large holes on the sides of her eye. 3 near each eye.   Wears a dark black/purple cape, lots of black bangles, pretends she's Raven from teen titans, black crop top, dark purple short shorts.  

History/Childhood: She lived in a foster home 6 other kids. When she started sleeping on the ceiling the other kids decided that she was weird. Her best friend was a spider named Barry until one of the older boys stepped on him. It was very traumatic. She pulled a prank on her siblings one night by covering the ceiling in spiders. They really did not appreciate that. She was very close with the ghosts in basement, but she was asked not to talk to them during the middle of the night. Her siblings don’t appreciate the whispers of strange tongues.  

She was adopted when she was 9, to a drunk, he beat her everyday. If she showed any aspect of power he would lock her in a trunk for a week. Until she was so afraid one time large spiders started coming out of her mouth and eyes and ate her adopted father. She was in a mental hospital until a witches advocate society picked her up and she was forced to go to Malum Maleficus as plea bargin.

Distinguishing marks (dimples, moles, scars, birthmarks, etc.): 3 black freckles by each of her eyes.  

Health: Coughs up spiders from time to time, it fine though... don’t worry

Siblings: Originally 6. They don't really know much about her. She doesn't know much about them, they like it that way. None when she was adopted.

Malum Maleficus: Description

Set in the Amityville house. Malum is for witches who are troubled, prophets put the witches in the house that have futures that could be disastrous for human kind. Extremely dangerous young witches, that have a chance to become very powerful.

"Do you want to go?" Vic was willing to go along with whatever the teen decided. Dia was clearly uncomfortable, staring at the brunette with an odd look in his eye. Vic felt a fresh surge of gilt rise in his gut. This was all his fault. If he hadn’t been so god damn curious, hadn’t kissed Dia, the blonde wouldn’t be so uncomfortable. He wouldn’t be surprised if the teen never went near him again, didn’t trust him again. He cursed his lack of will power.

"Uh sure." He muttered. If it got him out of the hotel then he'd do anything. He wasn't enjoying this place and each passing moment everything only got weirder. The girl smiled beckoning them to follow. Without thinking Dia grabbed Vic's hand. He squeezed it tightly even though there was a dulling pain in his body he ignored it. Dia could act tough but honestly this situation had him scared out of his wits. Hellish happy people, the ghost girl, the arms that grabbed him. He wanted to turn back from the start but god damn fucking pie had to be strawberry.

Vic let the jibe fall uncontested, “Ya… you ran like hell and by the time I caught up you were just passed out on the floor…I thought you could use some sleep. So much for that.” He looked skeptically at Dia, “Actually, I’m not convinced you’re alright. You should rest. I promise I wont attack you again, consider my curiosity sated.”

"I think we should leave." Dia muttered looking around the room. The unsettling feeling ran up his arms. He swallowed wanting to be close to Vic. The familiar teen, even if it made him sick, felt a lot better to be near then to be away from in this town. At the time of his announcement there was a knock on the door and it opened with out hesitation. 

The girl from before smiled and waved. "Hello again. Our carnival is starting so please feel free to join us outside when your ready." Dia swallowed again nodding awkwardly.

"Probably better that way. I don’t think you could take what I have to offer." The brunette claimed as suggestively as possible. "Apparently, I’m packing enough power to become a ghost." Vic mentally cursed himself; he’d actually used the ‘My penis is bigger than yours card’. Despite his air of confidence, he still felt like shit. Kissing someone without permission was so not okay. The charade slipped, "Sorry…" He whispered, "I didn’t mean to hurt you…" God he was pathetic.

Dia shrugged. "Whatever. Besides Mr. Heart. Don't think you anything special i bring people back to life all the time, remember? I mean can you have an awesome skeleton dog? No you can't. You wouldn't be able to handle all of this." He laughed gesturing to himself. Though his face fell as he remembered the girl in the hallway. He look around at the room. "We're still in Hershen..."

"My body is lying in the central square at home with no heart, you would know I was dead if you saw me much less touched me. But by myself? How the fuck does that make sense? Besides when I left home you were the only person who could see me." He was pacing now, letting Dia’s words rush through his head, "Wait. Am I making you sick. And you never answered my question about kissing."

Dia rubbed the back of his neck. "Too many questions. My head hurts and all you do is make it worse." He placed his hands on his face letting out a loud sigh. "I am a Necromancer, correct?" He asked rhetorically. "Yes. I am. So usually if you had died and you came back to life as..." He waved his hands towards Vic. "It would be assumed that i brought you back to life." He paused for a moment as if to suggest that Vic was slow. "But I didn't touch you, right? As we have established. So therefore you are doing this ghost thing all by yourself. Now since you do this ghost thing by yourself  and you recently died...when you touch me," Dia poked Vic for effect. He swallowed back he urge to get sick. "Magic happens and for a few seconds your actually alive cause i have sweet bitchin powers like that. Now imagine for a moment how much energy that takes to do that. Its a lot and it's really tiring. So you make me sick. I hope you get the pun here." He smirked. "Also the kissing thing is none of your business including our kisses, even though i kissed you, this" He waved a finger between the two of them. "Ain't a thing, sweet heart."

The kiss sent sparks of sensation through his core, but he was so surprised he hardly noticed. “I’m sorry! I should’ve told you but- wait how do you know I’m dead anyway? What does kissing have to do with anything?” Sure the kiss was… reactive, but how could he identify the dead that way?

Dia shook his head. "What the fuck? No wonder I've been feeling sick." Dia sat back down. "Wait but if others can see you you're probably not my fault. Since i didn't touch your dead body.... So your doing this on your own." Dia rubbed the back of this neck. He looked at Vic taking in his questions finally but he decided it was better not to answer them.

Vic choked on his surprise. He wasn’t keen to admit to kiss or killing the blonde. "I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean to…" He stuttered.  He felt as if he had stolen something from Dia. The overload of sensation mixed with his bewilderment. He remained tongue tied as confusion thrummed through his head.

Dia stared at Vic for a moment, the choking sensation was familiar. That kind of kiss was extremely familiar. His eyes went wide and he stood up, pulling Vic into a kiss by his shirt. He quickly pulled away. "You're fucking dead?"

Vic grabbed the keys and went after his companion. “Wait! What’s wrong?” He was a good runner but Dia had adrenaline on his side. Tearing down the hall, the brunette tried to pin point the cause of distress. But the blonde was plunging through through the hallways, seeming to choose the passages at random. He was about the catch the teen rounding the corner, only a few seconds behind. The maid’s cart bowled into his stomach, knocking him on the floor. “Shit!” Vic groaned, “I’m so sorry.” He said, but no one was there. The cart had appeared out of random.

He had no time to dwell, springing to his feet after Dia. The teen was lying at the end of the hall. Only the subtle signs of his breathing indicating he state of well being. Vic sighed in relief as he bent to lift his companion’s warm body. “What the hell were you doing?” he whispered, as he walked to their room. Dia’s head rested on his chest, making him feel warm in a way he was entirely unused to.

When they arrived, he carefully lay the teen’s body on the bed, deciding the removal of clothes was a breech of privacy. Vic allowed his callused hands to brush aside the blonde’s hair. Dia looked so peaceful, his lips slack, eyelids resting gently on pale cheeks.  He mentally cursed himself, knowing he was taking advantage of the situation. Unable to help himself, the brunette bent over his companion (crush?) touching their lips in a chaste kiss. 

Vic’s eyes rolled in his head, breath swelling in his chest. He could feel the air on his skin, Dia’s warm lips on his. God, it had been so long since he’d felt heat. He pulled away in shock, feeling his lungs expand and contract. Vic felt alive. The smell of dust was in his nose, the chill of air conditioning on his skin. He closed his eyes, breathing, feeling, remembering how it felt to be alive.

Dia felt like he was choking suddenly. His lips burned and he blinked his eyes open finding Vic stumbling away. "What the fuck did you just do?" Dia asked he placed a hand on his throat trying to suck air back in. His head pounded and he felt dizzy. "Am I dying? I feel like I'm fucking dying." He blinked a few times before looking at Vic. "Did you just kiss me or like stab me cause right now I can't tell?"  He took a few more deep breathes. "Everything hurts." Dia whined finally ending his rant.

Dia had beautiful hands and one of them was headed towards Vic. He had the compulsion to grab it but he wasn’t sure if that was what the blonde was asking for. He hated Vic, right? The brunette shot him a look, and was immediately worried. Dia looked pale, exhausted, and most of all nervous. Fuck it. He grabbed the hand. ‘Better safe that sorry.’ he told himself, it was for his companion’s comfort after all. Not for him, in any way. Nope.

"Right. Lets get a room. You haven’t slept in awhile." Gripping the hand, Vic pulled them through the throng of people over to the inn. "Room for two please."

"I'm sorry. We only have rooms with one bed available. Is that okay?" The man at the desk said. He didn't look up from his computer and just continued to type whatever he was typing. Dia looked around for the girl. She sat in the hallway nodding her head. 

"That's fine." He said, unable to really focus on what he was agreeing to. The girl laughed waiting for him in the hallway. Before the man handed him the key Dia bolted off after the girl, letting his fingers slip away from Vic's. The girl sang as she dragged her hands along the wall. 

"Dia get me. Dia catch me. Dia save us. Dia. Dia." She called down the hall repetitively. She stopped in front of the room for a moment to wait for him and then continued down the hallway. She placed her fingers along the wall at the end of the hall motioning that Dia do the same. The wall seemed to bleed black mold. As Dia got close he cold tell it was actually thousand of hands reaching towards him. The girl smiled slipping through the moving mass and disappearing. Dia tried to move away but something gripped his shirt. They pulled him to the wall engulfing him in darkness. "Dia. Help. Us" They all seemed to scream. Before Dia knew it he was let go and he fell to the ground loosing consciousnesses.

Vic looked around at the masses nervously. It was easily probable none of them could see him. Indeed, the new girl seemed to ignore him completely, opting to show Dia to the pie, but when she turned away she dodged him with a nod. The others were doing the same, a nod, a smile, but no one truly spoke to him.

His thoughts were smashed when the blonde turned, a brilliant smile gracing his face. Vic caught himself nodding absently, so caught up in his radiance he missed the teen’s words. He stared, breath catching. Shit. This whole gay thing really wasn’t working out for him.

"Do you want a slice dear?" A hand fell on Vic’s shoulder making him jump. He jerked around. That settled it, he was visible. "Food is good for the soul. You should have some." This woman too sounded like sugar, a kindergarten teacher type, all sweet and no spice. She kind of freaked him out. She walked to the pies, passing him a plate with a messy serving of the dessert. Vic awkwardly accepted the plate while she stared. "Well, go on." She said, when he didn’t move. He was pretty sure ghosts didn’t eat. She continued to look on wide eyed. Nervously, the teen tried a bite, forking the sugar into his mouth. 

Warmth spread through out Victor’s ‘body’. This was nothing like eating, yet he felt energized, life like in a way he never felt when he was alive. The feeling quickly faded, leaving a light buzz behind. “Uhh… thanks. This is really good.” She smiled, and turned away, allowing his anxiety to fade.

"So where would you like to go next?" Dia asked. Suddenly all the excitement over the food and rides disappeared. Down the way Dia could see a girl only partly materialized. She faded in and out, waving Dia over. She stood near the inn "Over here. Hurry, help us. Help us. " She moved through the door disappearing. Dia felt a wave of exhaustion and nausea come over him. The stench of death overcoming the extra sweet smells. There had been mass murder around here. Dia swallowed. The moment slowly passed before the sweet smells returned, a girl handed him another piece of pie. "Enjoy your stay." She sung happily she seemed to almost glare at him. He placed the plate on the table. 

He turned back towards Vic, he didn't want to admit that this place was starting to scare him. He stuck out his hand towards Vic, hoping the teen would get what he wanted without having to actually ask. "Hey we should stay close. There's a lot of people and shit." He muttered. "We should also go check in."

Vic scrambled out of the car after Dia. He was somewhat peeved at the attention the woman was giving him. Still, she could see him and it wasn’t as if the blonde was his to safeguard. He felt compelled to give her a second chance. Trailing behind the two he focused on reversing his first impression. Vic would no longer be a dick; was determined to have a heart.

The opening into the town was filled with an 1920s feel. The women were wearing flapper dresses and dancing with some of the boys on the street while jazz blasted over the town. "Welcome to Hershen boys, I'm Sophia." A new teen seemed to grab his arm in place of the other. The other seemed to disappear without warning. Dia looked around for where she went but Sophia dragged him towards a stall selling pie. "Here try some. It's strawberry." At the word strawberry Dia lost any interest in where the other girl went. 

"Really?" His voice went up an octave in excitement. Sophia nodded, 

"Yup. If you want anything else lemme know. I work at the inn over there alright?" Sophia said handing him a piece of pie before waving goodbye. He took a bite and a genuine smile spread of his face, his eyes lit up. 

"Let's never leave." Dia said happily turning to Vic.

Who died and made him team leader. He tried to think of what old Vic would do, back when he had a vicious appetite. Then it occurred to him, he had died. The two were staring directly at him, expectantly looking for an answer. He knew for a fact he was invisible to most people. Maybe being near Dia made him visible. It was in his state of wonder that he completely missed the blonde’s cry for help. “Uhh… The plan was to stay here. Where is the inn?” He wanted to get off the road. The woman was sweet but Vic didn’t like her. He kept seeing Dia wave about the napkin, bragging about the number. Not that it meant anything. He just didn’t like his companion getting more attention than him.

"Right this way." She pointed. "We have a no pollution rule in town so we'd like you leave your car right over there by the others." She explained. Dia swallowed before nodding. "Then I'll walk you into town and show you where you can stay." She smiled at him sweetly. 

Dia did as told watching her direct him where his car should go, he tried to shake off the feeling but it still wouldn't go away. It smelled of death and Dia wasn't as comfortable with that as he thought he should be. He leaned toward the back of the car near Lucky. "Stay here okay boy." He whispered. The girl was standing right at his window when he turned around nearly scaring the fuck out of him. 

She helped him out of the car in a syrup sweet manner that made Dia's skin crawl. "Right this way." She said again exactly like she had before.
