“You can always pour some out to me. Use fake names like Bob Skywalker and… Remember that teacher we had in high school, Price? Who called everyone Lisa? Just replace all the names for Lisa and I’ll listen to you for hours.“ Tony said, smiling over at her. “If you want to, of course.” Laughing with her, he pushed his hair back and shrugged slightly. “Look. Let me rephrase: I’m always getting older but the soccer team is always the same age, it makes me feel weird. Sometimes I think my daughter’s gonna be there, and I’m gonna be so old, and it’s gonna be weird. Or maybe it won’t.” He made a face at her and covered his mouth with his hands for a second. “Sorry. Rambling.“
“I could never do that. Not just because of confidentiality purpose and my moral duty to keep my patients privacy. But even listening to me vent about them and their problems over time would take such a toll on you. I wouldn’t do that to you.” She sighed a little and then smiled, shaking her head at his rambles. “Feel free to ramble at any time. I like listening to you talk. You have a nice voice. But I do understand what you’re saying. Aging is strange and no one talks about it enough.”
