@dahliaxwright
Being around Dahlia was like something heād never felt before. He came close to it when he was in bed with someone, a connection; chaos and comfort, but with her it was almost a constant thing. There was also fear, right now that was actually overpowering everything else. If she hadnāt made the first move to come sit next to him he might have panicked before she even said anything. It wasnāt what he wanted to do, but he didnāt know how else to handle this. Dimitri was never good at serious things. Heād learned to hide them behind laughter and drugs. He could numb himself when things got too serious before. Now he was raw and exposed.Ā
āIāve been better.ā He held his hand out, he was still having some shakes but they were getting better. It wasnāt as bad as it had been this morning.Ā āBut itās worth it.ā Getting clean was worth it, he had to tell himself that over and over. Letting his hand fall Dimitri grabbed hers to try to steady himself again.Ā āSorry if you were really into your laundry earlier, but I missed you.ā Saying that causally now was another huge step compared to before, and another reason heād wanted her here.
there was something different that she had never felt about anyone but him. it was something that she didnāt fully understand. part of her wasnāt entirely sure she wanted to understand. it was something that she knew she didnāt want to run away from. any sort of real, tangible connection she had felt towards anyone she had never wanted to stick around for. yet dimitri was different and he had been since he had shown up at the bar that night. part of her was starting to wonder if perhaps it was fate. that was something that she had never believed it but there was a lot of things that felt like they were changing.Ā
āis it bad?ā she asked, glancing towards his outstretched shaking hand. she knew that he was trying to get clean and that meant that he was going to suffer from withdrawal. she hadnāt pushed him to do it but she supported him. she was surprised when she felt him grab her hand but linked her fingers with his own,ā it is worth it,ā she promised,ā itās fine, i actually hate putting away laundry so thank you for the excuse to not have to do it.ā she allowed her legs to curl up beneath her and went to press a kiss to his cheek. things felt right even if she still felt so nervous to an extent. she was biting down on her lip,ā but either way iām yours for the night if youāll have me since they donāt need me tonight at the bar.āĀ
Your father didnāt love you , so you assume no one else would either.

āStrange but a knight, Iāll take it.ā Recounting her earlier assessment of him and not being the least bit worried because she wasnāt wrong. He was slightly weird and being around people he didnāt know made the eccentric part of his personality come out more due to nerves. As she left to go change he figured at least his good deed wasnāt for naught because the guys whoād been acting like she was a contestant at a wet t-shirt contest on a spring break beach were grumbling about it. Making small complaints about him ruining their night which seemed a little dramatic coming from three men who looked much older than he. Was this town really that boring? Couldnāt be.
Going back to his seat and finishing what was left of his beer he greeted the bartender with a grin once sheād come back with much drier attire.Ā āI aināt gonna argue with that logic, how about an IPA whateverās on draft. Iām not picky.ā
āas you should, it is a compliment,ā she assured him with a slight grin. honestly she was just relieved that someone like him was there. plus it was always nice to actually have someone around that wasnāt a pain in the ass. even if she could handle them she was just not in the mood. she was relieved the second that she was able to change. the last thing that she wanted was to deal with wet fabric sticking to her for the rest of her shift. she was smirking the second she realized the idiots had gotten bored and moved on.Ā
she was nodding as she glanced towards the now empty beer,ā smart man,ā she said with a shrug,ā whatever is on draft?ā she was going to grab a glass and heading over to the tap. quickly she poured the drink without any incidents and was going to slide the glass over to him,ā how come i havenāt seen you before?āĀ

āCorrect.ā He chuckled at his own response though his amused expression quickly turned into one of offense. It didnāt last for very long, shrugging after giving it some thought.Ā āIād be honored to get punched by you.ā He was joking, mostly. It just made him curious how hard sheād actually hit if given the opportunity but heād prefer not to be on the receiving end of it.Ā āAnd I donāt know, if you wanted to punch any of them, Iād be willing to take the fall for it.ā He enjoyed the extra cash from bartending but his pockets werenāt exactly hurting with his main source of income. Sighing once she mentioned the devils he looked around, tossing the rag onto the counter as he moved to wash his hands now.Ā āWhat? You donāt think theyāll be holding hands by the end of the night.ā That would be hilarious but something that would only live in his mind as a stupid thought. While normally he just flipped them off and went about his own business without giving them much thought, it was a little hard to do so now. So much so that if one of their prospects wanted to get mouthy, then he might just land into a fight - not stupid enough to go for one twice his size or one with a patch with a clear identifier. He may have the idiot act down but it didnāt mean he actually was.Ā āYou say devils like they arenāt your friends.ā
all dahlia did was roll her eyes at him but was unable to stop herself from smirking. she knew that her shift would have been boring if it wasnāt for zeke. she was making a face at him,ā oh iām sure you would.ā she doubted it would happen unless he did something to really piss her off. she was laughing a little as she went to grab a few empty glasses from the bar,ā and then youād leave me alone here, i donāt think so.ā she knew that he didnāt exactly need the job whereas she did. otherwise she wouldnāt work nearly as hard as she did. she was snorting at his words about both the devils and wolves,ā throwing fists is more like it,ā she told him with a sigh,ā so much tension in this damn town.ā she knew that everyone was on edge and everyone had good reason. she just hoped that the town wouldnāt hit a tipping point. she was going to set the glasses into one of the trays that would be run through the dish washer. she turned back towards him and her head tilted,ā they are more like family,ā she admitted,ā especially these days.ā she nodded in the direction of the prospect that was seated in the corner of the bar. he was the one who was going to escort her home.Ā
Looking around La Luna, with it now closed the quietness inside of the place was weird to take in when she only ever really heard it with music and conversations filling the place. Turning to look over at Dahlia once she popped up from the back again, she lowered herself onto the bar, using her hand as a fist to rest her chin on.Ā āRandom question here but if you could go anywhere right now, where would you?ā She knew it probably seemed to come out of left field but with how she had been feeling, it made perfect sense to question it. Did she want to get away from Charming? The answer wasnāt so simple anymore but boy did she want to run some days, she was just afraid that if she did, sheād always be doing that. If she was always doing that, then maybe she was more like her father than she thought.
the quiet after close was something that dahlia used to enjoy. it wasnāt the case any longer but it was a relief that she wasnāt alone. of course she knew that one of the prospects would likely be in the parking lot, waiting to escort her home. she had been finishing up a few things in the back before reappearing behind the bar. her head tilting at the question her friend asked,ā are you planning a road trip i should be worried about?ā she had traveled nearly all of her life so she wasnāt even sure how to answer such a question,ā honestly? i donāt think there is anywhere i would want to go.ā that actually unnerved dahlia now that she thought of it because it meant that she was starting to really think of charming as her home.Ā
āMy bad.ā He emphasized his words because he knew he had come around with a less than pleasant attitude which wasnāt like him. He hated getting too serious even when the moment warranted it. With a deep breath he tried to brush off the chip on his shoulder.Ā āDamn, I thought we were going to get a whole ass show for a second.ā He said after she pulled the top off, laughing a bit at that even crossing his mind for the single second that it did.Ā āWell, typically I am those asshats so I donāt know if I really did you any favors.ā He smiled as he worked on cleaning up anything the spill had gotten on.Ā āAnything else happened tonight or was that the most entertaining thing of the night because ima need it to get a little more wild than that.āĀ
honestly dahlia didnāt care that he was being less than positive. she just had to give him shit for it because that was what she was. she was shrugging as she looked over at him,ā uh huh.ā she didnāt care about the fact that she was pulling off her shirt. mostly because she had a tank top on and she had never been one to care about showing skin. she was rolling her eyes at him,ā in your dreams.ā she was shoving the basically ruined shirt into her bag. she was shrugging as she glanced over at him,ā well see the difference so i can at least punch you without losing my job but them? canāt do that.ā she was glancing around and glancing back over at him,ā that is probably the most exciting thing so far,ā she paused,ā but you never know with your friends and the devils being here.āĀ
āKarma called and said sheās on your side because I got you.ā Thinking back to earlier when heād relented on unpacking his car because of how daunting the task seemed. A week and a half with most of his stuff still in the trunk of his car was bordering on lazy but tonight it just might have all been for a reason.Ā āYouāre probably right about the guys over there who think gingham is still in style but give me a minute.ā Turning around in his barstool and heading out of the bar towards his beat up Toyota that he was digging his keys out for now. None of his shirts would fit the woman well but he could promise none of them would be wet or smell like beer and that would at least be an improvement. Grabbing a clean t-shirt that didnāt seem to have too many wrinkles and would be oversized but work, Lucas headed back inside.Ā
āHere, itās at least dry.ā
dahlia couldnāt help but giggle at his words, somewhat surprised,ā anyone ever tell you that you are strange? a good strange though.ā honestly she was just relieved that someone was coming to her rescue. she normally would have something to change into. yet she had forgotten and that meant that she would have been out of luck. she couldnāt help but grin at the fact that he was clearly trying to cheer her up to an extent,ā not a problem.āĀ she watched him as he slid off the stool and was making his way out of the bar. she was going to pull her hair up into a messy bun in order to get it out of the way. in a few minutes he was walking back in and he was holding what looked to be a reasonably clean t-shirt that would clearly be oversized on her. she was reaching for it and smiled at him,ā you are my knight in shining armor.āĀ
she was going into the back in order to change. of course she went to knot the shirt in the front to make it more form fitting and tucked it into the waistband of her jeans. she was walking back out and making a beeline for where he was standing,ā so that at least gets you one free drink so what will it be?āĀ
@cliff-kincaid
Dimitri hadnāt really been doing anything since heād decided to cut back on drugs, it wasnāt an easy choice but heād decided it was for the best. That was why he was sitting on the couch of his apartment and keeping himself isolated for as long as he could. Most friends he had were heavy into drugs and being around them right now only made it hard to not use. The only people he really had been talking with right now were Lena and Dahlia. Heād talked with Sam and explained what he was doing right now. Sheād understood, he felt bad because he knew she needed him right now but he had to do this.Ā
Heād texted Dahlia and asked her to come over, he wanted to see her, wanted to talk to her. Things in his mind were fuzzy about a lot of things but with her, he could see that clear. She was part of why he was doing this. He told her to just come in when she got here, heād left the door unlocked for her. When she finally got there he sat up,Ā āA sight for sore eyes.ā Heād not actually seen her much since the night of the masquerade and all that shit went down. She was busy a lot and he knew she was still talking with people about what had happened with the men and her dad. He figured it had to be Marcus; he knew she watched Faith so there was no way it wasnāt. If they took care of that⦠he couldnāt fault the Devilās too much.
life had changed drastically in the past few months. dahlia had never thought that things would go the way that they had. let alone that she would be relying on the MC for help. sure she was close with a lot of the members. after all she did babysit the presidents daughter and that meant something. marcus had agreed to help her and he had been doing what she had asked. he had been watching over her. if it wasnāt him that it was one of the other members. she had tried to get back to focusing on her work and trying to spend what free time she had with dimitri. they hadnāt seen much of each other since the night of the masquerade.Ā
she had been more than happy when she saw his text. she had the day off and had been trying to catch up on her cleaning and a few other things. yet the idea of spending some time with him was far better than doing laundry. she had headed to his place without even having to think twice. she went right inside since he had told her the door was be open,ā it has been too long.ā she was going to shut the door behind her before making her way over to where he was sitting and dropping down onto the couch beside him,ā i have missed you.ā she allowed her head to fall against his shoulder and let out a deep breath,ā how are you?ā honestly she wanted to talk about anything but herself.Ā
Maybe it was the nonconfrontational gene he had when completely sober but his first response had been to ignore the words spoken a little too loudly about their bartender who was right in front of them. As if she didnāt have ears and couldnāt hear exactly what was being said. It was quite bold of anyone to even catcall in the first place and yet to do it right to your face, wasnāt as impressive as the guys might have thought. Turning back towards the woman who had gotten a little wet from the keg sheād been changing, it was a little unfortunate but no reason for anyone to start objectifying anyone else. āYo, you good? Can I help at all?ā Asking the question withought the slightest clue of what he had to offer but offered nonetheless.
sometimes the gull of some people actually amazed her. not that she should have been surprised about it all. everyone did stupid things when they were drinking but men usually did worse things. she was trying to figure out what she could do for the rest of her shift. her hands reaching to try to peel the wet fabric from her frame. it took her by surprise when she heard someone asking if they could help. her head lifted and she bit down on her lip,ā not unless you have a shirt i can borrow,ā she admitted,ā itās fine, the pigs will get bored and move on and iāll just reek of beer for the rest of my shift.ā she was trying to wipe at the beer using a rag but doubted it would do anything.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā He laughed before tilting his head to the side, āAwww, shucks, arenāt you a sweetheart?ā Their interactions were mostly upbeat and positive and with Damian not exactly being the best at facing his feelings, it made it easier to just joke rather than have serious conversations. He twisted his features into an exaggerated shock expression, failing to hold it and then falling into a fit of laughter again. When finally being able to speak, he did so between chuckles, āItās.. A surprise. The magnitude of it can be discussed, once you tell me who it isā His blunt honesty was one of Damianās better qualities, but at times he could hurt peopleās feelings, which was why he decided that should she eventually tell him who she was dating, heād try his best to be supportive. As Dahlia continued their conversation, Damian shook his head,Ā āI did not! Thatās preposterous. Iām pretty and smart. Youāre just smart⦠Hence, why I said you could be the brains, because you donāt have much else to work withā He tried to keep a serious face, but didnāt last long before be broke into a laugh again, and begun sucking milkshake up through the straw.Ā āAyee, you know Iām just kidding, little oneā He even went as far as to pat Dahlia on the head, before shaking his head and trying to duck out the way of the fry being thrown at him,Ā āWill you please stop throwing fries at me. Itās a total waste of food and you as someone who works in the service industry, should know how much it sucks to clean up after others.ā If anyone else had said it, it wouldāve most likely sounded very judgmental, but when the words left Damian, he knew perfectly well that Dahlia would know he was cracking a joke.Ā āYup. A year.. Itās crazy.ā He paused,Ā āYou are too, chained to the bar. You need more nights off to come party with me!ā Winking in her direction he then leaned back in his seat with his hands behind his neck, having finished the whole meal in front of him. Thatās when Dahlia decided to tell him who she was dating, and Damianās eyes widened again.Ā āShit! I know that dude. I used to be tight with the guy, actuallyā He admits, before tilting his head to the side and pushing out his lower lip while nodding,Ā āNo shit⦠Dimitri Perez. Havenāt heard that name in a while. I wonāt make jokes. Just⦠Is he treating you right?ā Damian couldnāt imagine he wasnāt, as Dimitri had always been a good guy, back in the day.
āi have my moments,ā she told him with a roll of her eyes. dahlia and damian almost always just joked around with each other. he was one of the few people that she wasnāt always serious around. that was part of why she didnāt mind spending time with him. her eyes narrowed somewhat at the fact that he did seem surprised at what she had admitted. then again she had surprised herself with what had happened between dimitri and herself. it was something that she hadnāt seen coming. she merely made a face at him,ā i promise however surprised you are, iām ten times more shocked.ā mostly because she had broken her rule when it came to getting attached. she was unable to stop herself from laughing and shaking her head,ā i think we both know you are full of shit.ā she was going to try to duck to avoid letitng him pat her head,ā little one? really?ā she was smirking at the fact that he was trying to dodge the fry that she was tossing him. she was laughing as she went to pop one of the few she had left into her mouth,ā i would stop if you didnāt say dumb stuff!ā she was going to take the last few bites of her burger and making a face at him. only to lean back like he had after he finished his own food,ā itās not like you canāt come see me at the bar!ā she was surprised to hear that damian knew dimitri but maybe she shouldnāt have been,ā of course you know him.ā that was one of the many things that came with living in a small town,ā he is,ā she told him without even thinking twice,ā we havenāt actually made it official but um, yeah, heās good for me i think.ā she only hoped that she was good for him but she had no idea.Ā
On evenings that she needed a stiff drink without the lights and noise of the club, Eris found herself at La Luna. People generally left her alone there and if she got to the place early enough she could grab a seat at the bar. Which also meant she had a firsthand seat at the assholes coming up and ordering ridiculous drinks and thinking they had a shot with any of the bartenders here. Sometimes it was almost humorous except tonight it seemed that no one could make a mistake without being exploited for it. The woman changing the keg had happened to get beer all over her and the boys thought they were at a beach in Florida during spring break the way they were acting. Eris shot a glare their way and wondered what on earth went through peopleās minds sometimes that made them act like complete idiots.
āI bet thatās the most action they are gonna get all year behaving like that.ā Rolling her eyes and addressing the woman she was sure sheād seen before, just couldnāt place her name now.Ā āYou want to fuck with them a little?ā
there were a lot of things that came with working at a bar. one of them being the drunk idiots who seemed to think it was alright to hit on her. usually she handled it but that night her mind was all over the place. she was almost tempted to just storm out but she did need her job. plus the bar was busy so that meant she was needed. she was making a face as she managed to clean up almost all of the mess. though she knew that she was going to smell like beer for the rest of her shift. she was wondering if she even had an extra top in her locker. sometimes she made sure to bring extra clothes just to play it safe.Ā
she was taken by surprise when she realized that she was being addressed by a woman seated at the bar. she knew her face but she didnāt remember her name. she let out a small laugh but nodded in agreement,ā itās likely thatās true.ā she was shrugging since she honestly didnāt see the harm,ā iām up for it.āĀ
Stepping into the bar in time to watch the way the beer went all over Dahlia, eyes darting over at the guys who began laughing and everything that transpired after that instantly told him just how this shift was going to go. Instead of telling them to shut their mouths, knowing it only tended to make them get more annoying Zeke instead turned the cat calling onto them. He had no shame in it as he repeated exactly what they had been saying towards Dahlia. Now that instantly shut them up, giving them all a fake smile when they did before his face fell.Ā āWhatās the matter, you donāt like that shit?ā He looked gave them a look of annoyance as he made his way behind the bar, giving her a little nod. He hadnāt been to sleep in..who knows how many hours now so while he would continue being ridiculous, he also had a little less patience than his usual self. Understandable though, no? With two people murdered, one being someone he actually knew and no answers as what the fuck was going on? Had everyone a little on edge.Ā āIāll clean it up.ā He said as he practically yanked the rag out of her hands.
it was clearly going to be a very long night and dahlia knew it. she was doing her best to keep her temper in check. mostly because she knew that everyone was on edge. she was about to snap back at them until she heard zekeās voice. her head tilting when she realized exactly what he was doing. she was sighing as she watched the idiots instantly disperse when they realized their little game was ruined. she was going back to attempting to clean up the mess that she had created,ā shit.ā she was not at all surprised by the fact that zeke was clearly in a mood. she didnāt protest when he practically ripped the rag from her grasp,ā are you going to be this cheery all night?ā she honestly couldnāt help herself sometimes. plus it was strange to see zeke acting the way that he was,ā because i donāt know if i can handle it,ā she said beforeĀ unceremoniously pulling off her top to show the plain solid black tank top beneath it,ā thank you for getting rid of the asshats.āĀ
