In 2002, schizophrenic artist Richard Sumner handcuffed himself to a tree in the woods and threw away the key. When he was found, scratch marks on his wrist indicated that he had changed his mind. Sadly though he couldn’t get free and he died from exposure four days later, but his body wasn’t discovered for three years.
