Snowbound in Mt. Pyre || Ruby & Hikari
Ruby stared as the girl in front of him flopped to the ground. He blinked in confusion, trying to figure out what caused such an action. Could it really have been from his sudden outburst? Ruby pondered the question a bit, before realizing he had left a girl on the ground, and promptly reached his hand out, a red tint tinging his cheeks.
Instead, the girl stared blankly up at the sky. A single, questioning eyebrow shot up as Ruby’s gaze moved to the sky as well, thinking that maybe something had caught the girl’s attention. He quickly found there to be nothing up there but a sky that was mostly littered by clouds. His attention was only snapped back when the girl began speaking yet again.
"Admiration, huh? I guess you could call it that!" Ruby shrugged, his smile brightening upon being told that he was the first to say such things of Sinnoh. "Really? Me? Oh, that’s awesome! Guess everyone else just doesn’t have as good of taste, huh?” he chuckled. There was never a moment where Ruby failed to turn a situation around to suit his liking.
The boy’s smile broadened as the girl continued describing the Sinnoh region, just as soon as she stood up. The fact that she had been laying on the ground seemed to have totally slipped his mind. But, either way, she was back on her feet. No harm done, right? His eyes glistened with curiosity as she explained that Heathome City was where the contests mainly took place, taking a mental note on the name. His eyebrows shot up upon her mention of taking place in some of the said contests.
"I’m a coordinator, too!" he grinned, quickly drawing out his ribbons case, and flashing the plethora of ribbons towards the girl. Of course the first thing he wanted to do was show off a bit. He grinned with pride for his ribbons, his ego practically leaking out of him.
"The Lost Tower, huh? Sounds-" before he could continue, the girl had brought out a strange device that resembled his PokeNav, and smiled a bit wider when he realized he was on camera. Ruby gave off his contest-winning smile, and listened in on what she had to say.
"Well, this place here is Mt. Pyre! It’s a graveyard for Pokemon, and some people say you can see their ghosts here, so it’s not too popular of a place. And, on top, there are the-” Ruby cut himself short, his dazzling smile fading into a blank expression. However, not even that lasted too long, as that expression soon turned into a sort of panicky state.
“Oh crap! That’s right!" he had remembered the reason for his being here, almost instantly turning on his heels. He was ready to speed off, when he recalled that he was in the middle of a conversation.
"Er- I have something to take care of. I mean, if you’re doing some research, or whatever, you can come with me! I just need to head up to the peak and check on something. We can talk as we walk! I’m Ruby, by the way. Top coordinator of Hoenn!" he, once again, shifted his attention from one thing to another. He flashed the strange device another quick smile before gesturing for the girl to follow.
Hikari's eyes glowed with admiration as he flashed her his contest ribbons. She'd never come across someone who had as many ribbons as him and she was impressed. Obtaining contest ribbons was harder than participating in gym battles. At least they stayed in one spot while contests could take a week's journey to the next one... sometimes.
"Ghosts?" she said, but mostly to herself. The girl had a weird obsession with ghost type pokemon, for no reason. Maybe it was that staying up reading about haunted stuff and creepypastas while she was ten got to her, but then again, who knew.
"That's pretty great! I'm very fond of ghosts to be honest!" she said while flashing him a smile. "I think trying to discover their origins is the most--"
Hikari stopped talking when she saw the boy panic. He started to ramble of about having to check something and asked if she wanted to come, which she agreed to. She almost snorted when she saw him smile at her xtransceiver before he gestured her to follow him. Shrugging her shoulders, she did and inside they walked in. Hikari tried her best to refrain from gasping when she saw a couple of ghosts around. Hell, some of them didn't even look like any pokemon she'd ever seen before.
"This place is incredible..."
