Fancy meeting you here | Ruby and Sapphire
Ecruteak City. A city located deep in the heart of Johto. A place where, while the rest of the region evolved with technology, it decided to keep to it's cultural roots and not change. The atmosphere here was so different as compared to some big bustling. Like a breath of fresh morning air. Arceus knows Sapphire needed that breath after coming out of something like Goldenrod. That atrocious concrete jungle was possibly her least favorite place on the planet. So the change in atmosphere was much appreciated.
Ecruteak also held Sapphires fourth gym badge of the Johto region. While the last one was hard enough to get [seriously that Miltank man] she was already pumped up enough to plow her way straight to the gym and challenge it's leader, without even really asking anyone who they were or what type they specialized in. She didn't care, the sooner she got to battle the better.
The only thing that caused the girl to stop in her tracks was a rather large crowd which had formed in front of one of the many large wooden buildings. There were people all over with cameras, microphones, and other various pieces of technology, reporting on...something, or someone. The thing that caught her eyes the most however, was the particularly familiar looking Milotic towering over the rest of the crowd. A shiny new ribbon hung around her neck. "Hmmmm..." The brunet folded her arms and tapped her fingers, glancing down at Dono [who she had arrived on]. Only receiving a totally useless "I-dunno" look and shrug back.
It took her two seconds to decide what she wanted to do, heels twirling her around in the direction of the loud crowd and took off toward it. Dono not too far behind. It was as if the people were a literal wall. Each time she'd find an opening to slip in someone would fill the gap. A annoyed pout was quickly beginning to form on her face. She soon hopped up on Dono's back, trying to peek over shoulders and heads. When that proved ineffective she squatted to the ground to peer between legs into a sea of feet.
"Uhhhhg." Sapphire let out a groan. Her eyes rolling exasperatedly as Dono let out a slight giggle. "Hey buster, I don't see you trying to help." A sadistic idea hit her. She could make Dono use rollout to split a path into the crowd. By this point she was half tempted to. Morality got the better of her however and she came up with a better idea. Frantically she darted over into the Milotic's line of sight If this was indeed the Milotic she was thinking of surely the beautiful beast would remember her or at least answer the name she was going to use.
"Heeey, Mimi!" She grinned and jumped around, hoping to catch the water-type's attention while probably looking incredibly stupid in the process. Like she cared. All she wanted was the pokemon to see or hear her.
