¹. all information and lore here is entirely original, please do not take any inspiration from it. all creative rights to myself and the affiliated group.

². when i say activity on this blog will be slow i genuinely mean it. due to life the activity here will be wildly sporadic. i don't expect quick responses from my writing partners and so i hope for the same considerations. feel free to ask for my discord for brain rotting but that may be just as slow as writing is sometimes. tl;dr is my speed =/= my interest in our plots!!

³. due to the above rule and how often i can be here this blog is mutuals only and will be highly selective. i will softblock if i don't expect to follow back, personal blogs will be blocked. mutuals may approach at anytime (and please do!)

dahlia definitely did some form of lydia deetz’ red outfit as her halloween costume with a heavy emphasis on hot but off puttingly creepy. her sorority always throws the biggest halloween party on campus so she’s determined to always pull out all the stops.

last weekend saw someone dressed as a witch who struck a pose when my friend’s car’s headlights shone on them, and i simply think that was a sign. witching hour has truly begun

dahlia has attempted multiple times to bring her younger sister back to life with necromancy or at least speak to her. she has only gotten close to hearing her sisters voice once and has been unsuccessful ever since. however, one attempt still chills her to this day. on the night of her senior prom, an eighteen year old dahlia had drunken too much and decided to abandon her date to walk home on her own. instead of making her way home she ended up in the cemetery where her sister lay. with muddled senses she started casting a spell she had read months ago, not once thinking of what she was actually trying to conjure. instead of her sister’s spirit greeting her, she was met with a hoard of undead bodies risen from the cemetery. dahlia’s mother had gone looking for her when she hadn’t come home and heard her daughters scream cut through the night. she found dahlia curled up behind a gravestone for cover, tear streaked face and a prom dress that was mud splattered and torn from running from the army of the dead clattering after her. that was the only time dahlia had seen her mother spell cast and she could barely remember it from the blanket of fear. the following summer dahlia was sent to live with her aunt in paris to get her as far away from rookwood and the memories she had associated with the town.

dahlia pulled at the pink cardigan around her shoulders, drawing it tighter around her body like a cocoon. it was chillier than normal. fall in rookwood was typically a pleasant season. fit for sweaters and skirts and the occasional scarf when the wind picked up. but as she stood in the center of the cemetery, dahlia could feel goosebumps crawling up every inch of exposed skin, a bone chilling sort of cold. it wasn’t her first time in the cemetery. her coven often found their way into places teeming with the dead whether they knew it or not. just last week they had ended up coincidentally performing a seance in a house that carried years of murder and tragedy. it hadn’t gone well. a seance wasn’t her intention that night but it tempted her as she stared long and hard at the gravestone before her. the familiar name made it hard to breathe so she tore her gaze away and turned on her heels to face @khozmoh.

“ despite what rumours might say, i don’t normally bring boys to cemeteries, ” she teased with a crooked grin. it was easier to inject the air with humour than face why she had really dragged him there. ever since a little birdie had whispered to her about cosmo’s allegedly abilities, her intrigue had piqued. she hadn’t told him why they were there but the rows on rows of tombstones were likely a dead giveaway. her grin fell as she trained her pale green eyes on him. “ you know, if you’re actually a sham i’m not going to be impressed. ” for a moment the silence awkwardly stretched between them as dahlia worked up the nerve to get the ball rolling. when she started her gaze was elsewhere, as if there were more interesting things around her, and she waved a hand almost flippantly. “ so how does it work ? do i have to give you a name or something ? ”

dahlia is a reformed mean girl. meaning she was definitely a mean girl in highschool and this behaviour stemmed from needing popularity to be her cover. she had trouble controlling her magic in her teen years due to general growth and her fluctuating mood which led to impulsivity. she quickly realized in grade 9 that no one would believe a girl who kept to herself and swore she wasn’t doing whatever her classmates accused her of. so she made her way into the highest rankings of highschool society and soon led a group of followers who wouldn’t hesitate to defend her despite some wild claims and rumours.

dahlia wasn’t one to use witchcraft for the mundane. her mothers voice rang loud in the back of her head anytime she attempted to quicken a simple task with a spell. lately she’d been rather cross with her mother and that made her spiteful. it was small, her acts of rebellion. closing a door without touching it, brushing her hair without a brush, even simply dunking her tea bag in and out of her cup. that day dahlia simply couldn’t have been bothered to pick up her fallen coffee cup and instead with a quiet mutter and flick of her finger, the cup had risen from the ground and disposed itself neatly in the trash bin. she hadn’t noticed @vtriol walk around the corner when she’d done it.

when the inevitable questioning came dahlia blinked at them for a second before bursting out into a twinkling laugh. she clapped a hand over her mouth apologetically and shook her head to compose herself. “ i’m so sorry, i’m not laughing at you, i swear. i just — you think i did what ? ” she brushed her hair over her shoulders and offered the stranger a dazzling smile that never really reached her eyes. “ i mean it is exam season. god knows the things i thought i saw after an all-nighter. ”

“ shhh ! ” a wide eyed dahlia desperately ushered her friend to lower her voice in the library. the two had no intention of studying but anika’s level voice was akin to a megaphone in the pin drop silent building. they received a few glares and she caught an annoyed ‘sorority girls’ muttered under someone’s breath. dahlia carefully moved her chair closer to anika so she could duck her head closer to her sister. “ i’ve tried. ” she sheepishly admitted. her eyes wandered to a small table of three girls at the other end of the hall. they were the real reason the witches had bothered to come to the library when they had a perfectly good study room in their ever expanding house. the three girls were immersed in the textbooks sprawled around them and the clutter made it hard to see when a page would flip on its own without a single finger lifted.

“ they won’t budge, ” her lips turned downward in a disproving frown. dahlia wang had a competitive streak and she didn’t like to lose. her manicured nails tapped along the edge of the table impatiently as she chewed the inside of her cheek. in the distance she could make out one of the girls looking over her shoulder at them but quickly turning back. “ i think we should invite them over. ” she suggested. her knees brushed the others as she turned to face her friend with excitement sparkling in her jade eyes. “ i know we don’t usually extend invites but we’re also not usually turned down by other witches. do you think the other girls would mind ? ”

dahlia’s a major history buff. despite neither of that being her fields of study, she has a passion for world history and most of that stemmed from witch history. so when people catch her reading books it’s usually non-fictional but to the human eye may come off as fictional due to the witch related topics

for the past ten minutes dahlia had sat perched at the kitchen island with the steam of her rapidly cooling tea wafting around her face as she listened to jen’s sale pitch. the doll-like girl had woken up with more pep in her step than the president could muster and she had insisted jen give her a moment to brew herself a cup to keep her awake. with the tea having finally jogged her senses, dahlia’s brows furrowed. jen had been beating around the bush for long enough to be a concern so she finally said. “ i’m not going to say yes before you actually tell me what you’re trying to do. ” she sat up and fixed her coven sister with a stern look. it wasn’t that dahlia disapproved of the other girls using magic, they would do that with or without her permission. but it was her job as president to make sure they didn’t encroach into reckless territory. and it always felt like it would border reckless when she was put into a position of impromptu shark tank.

“ you know the house rules. no death unless voted on collectively and no harm to the coven. ” the rules were simple because magic couldn’t be held down by mortal laws. but they all agreed on the two statements and so she parroted it out like a slogan. dahlia leaned forward on the counter and continued. “ you’ve built up a lot of suspense, so spill, jen. ”
