8.29.22 // First Day of 6th Grade! It was a tough morning. He’s not at all thrilled to be going back. Transition and change has never been his strong-suit. But this year feels even harder for some reason. 7.17.22 // TWELVE. I blinked. And today Alec turned 12. Due to various health concerns at the end of my pregnancy with him, I was induced into labor which eventually failed and they wheeled me into general anesthesia to perform a c-section where I was completely unconscious. I was not awake for the birth of my firstborn. Hours after he entered the world, I finally woke and met him for the first time. In a horribly drowsy state, I’ll still never forget the moment they handed him to me. I was so emotional, and thought he was the most beautiful little human I’ve ever seen in my life and I was overwhelmed with pride that I got to be his mother. I’ve looked at him and thought the exact same thing every single day for the past twelve years. Today we celebrated him by going to an escape room (we got out!) and eating at Culver’s (his fave). 2022 Summer Road Trip // In past years, we’ve traveled quite far for our vacations, so this year we decided to stick closer to home and tour the great state of Wisconsin! After we spent Father’s Day at The House on the Rock- we headed to Madison to visit the Capitol and explore a bit. Then to Milwaukee for the Zoo and Aquarium and a tour of the Sprecher Brewery. We continued north to Green Bay to tour Lambeau Field and play outside at TitleTown, then to Appleton for a fun minor league baseball game and finally to Waupaca for a paddle boat tour, batting cages and two different mini golf courses. 6.3.22 // Last day of school! And once again, I’m left wondering where the time went and how we are possibly through another school year. Swipe for first day versus last day comparisons! And for the selfie Alec and his awesome teacher took together. After getting shorted on her graduation ceremony from High School in 2020, Caitlyn was able to walk the stage as she earned her Accounting degree (with honors!) tonight from CVTC! 5.14.22 // Another tournament in the books for Alec. This competition is tough, but he brought home third and second place trophies for his individual forms and he and Lilly won first place for their team form! 5.12.22 // Ivy’s first softball game. It’s was 90° and a tad miserable but she played a great game. She had awesome hits both times she was at bat and made it to home each time as well.
